I can't believe Facebook is as buggy as it is!

I avoided it for the longest time just because I thought it was the flavor of the week and would soon fade. I also didn't want to get completely sucked into another time waster.

Now that I've joined though, it's nice to have one place you can always turn to and generally be able to find someone and get in touch with them. Not always, but most of the time. I just hope they iron out some of the bugs soon and make the site more responsive.

if I go meet women on FB I wont be much longer

my real friends will send email to chat or we'll hang out, I dont need facebook walls to keep up with them all.

I wouldnt use it much at all if my wife wasnt all over all the time doing shit.

the picture sharing is a nice plus though, instead of my brother emailing the whole fam pics of his kitchen remodel or a link to a album, it just tells us when he adds pics

if it was more social networking and less JOIN MY MOB IN MOB WARS like it used to be I would dislike it less.

Married? Then quit yer bitchin about peoples' behavior who aren't.

An extremely annoying family member of mine is on my "Family" friends list, which I am always offline to in FB chat. Without fail, when this kid comes online, he can message me, and he appears online under "Other Friends", which it clearly shows me as also being invisible/offline to. Go figure.

Speaking of buggy, I'm trying to troubleshoot some bugs in some of the apps we use here at work.

This is the error message:

"An exception was generated that was not handled"

-_-;

I wish I could just be invisible to one really annoying chick I used to work with. Invisible as in she can't even see I have a profile. She's sent me a total of FIVE friend requests and even asked me in person why I haven't added her. You'd think that after the third or even fourth rejection, she'd take the hint. She's special.

It's definitely buggier than before. I often get random error messages when I click a photo album, compose a new message, etc. And the notifications are definitely delayed. I will get email notifications before I get notifications within Facebook.

I see a few of my friends' accounts have been hacked from time to time and are posting spam but most are ok.

I don't use chat because it's a POS - I add people on MSN instead. I don't use the apps because of the data mining, but also because I just don't have time to waste on them. However, I understand that they're there because they earn the site a shitload of money, which pays for the maintenance and upgrades on the site, keeping it free for the end users.

Having said that, FB still works well, and quickly, the vast majority of the time. When a site adds members, data and features so exponentially, a few problems are bound to happen - I think they've done an exceptional job all things considered.

i think you can add her but make everything invisible to her. your friends, your status updates, your pics, everything. all she'll see if that you're her friend but nothing else.

Meh, as already stated, just block each app and the problem goes away quickly. It is annoying though.

yeah its 90% spam if you dont block all that crap. I know a few photogs with their studios and a few guys that run their own business and they spam you every week to be a fan, even if you already are. so glad they added that so I dont have like 300 emails a week about invitations.

Married? Then quit yer bitchin about peoples' behavior who aren't.

um...........what? all I said was I didnt use it to pick up women because I'm married, not because I was gay like he insiuated

fair enough, but that puts in the small percentage of fb users.

headed the way of myspace? i originally liked facebook because it was so simple and you couldn't mess around with it much. Now i guess in order to keep finding a way to make it profitable they want to overcode it to death. Will people move on to the next website?

FB is MS without letting you edit how your profile looks. I love how people on FB look down at people who use MS as if the site they use is nothing like it. I joined FB and I got a shit ton of requests to play some retarded mafia wars, and for the week I was on there it mimicked what I saw on Myspace. Lots of retarded status updates "I farted at work lol!" "I had Burger King for lunch lol" "I'm not working lol" It was basically Myspace without the customization options. If you polish a turd it's still a turd. And both are huge turds.

To answer your question HELL YES people will move on to the next web site. And the ironic thing is the people who move on will look down on people who still use FB when this "next website" will basically be a MS->FB->clone with a few slight modifications.

"MAH SITE IS BETTERS!!!"

FB is MS without letting you edit how your profile looks.

This 1 reason alone leads to several items that cause FB > MS

- No BS music
- No BS themes
- No stupid comment spammers

only experienced it being real buggy one day a few weeks ago... comments weren't posting, etc. Chat is relatively simple... just hope you or they keep from changing to another website accidentally. And BTW, I like the email system the way it is.

There's a "block further requests from this user" option when you reject a person now.

I think Facebook is one of the best written websites I've ever come across.
