<< This is reminding me about that Britney Spears story, where she shell the transmission on a Ferarri... Damn shame >>

She is SUCH a retard!!! A Ferrari 360 Modena does not deserve that type of abuse from some retarded bimbo who think just because she has lots of money she can beat on a car that is worth more than her life!! AAAAAHHHHHH!! MADENING!!!

Nope, a least nothing digitized. It's a black/gray, not the copper silver seen in a link on this thread. Only make one change, and that was to go to Michelin Sport Pilots. Didn't like the stock Bridgestones

How high is your insurance rates with that bike?

I'm going to sell off my Ninja next year and get a GSX-R600. I'm just a bit worried at how high my rates will climb.

BTW - ANY 600cc sportbike can take a viper with ease. And then, once you get into the GSX-R1000's and 1300's, you're talking about 190+ MPH top speeds. I've got a video of a guy on a 1000; he hit 180MPH several times throughout the video.

Actually, a slow bike would pretty much toast any fast car.

The gixxers are FFAAAST! It seems that every manu except Kawasaki released this year's 600cc bikes with digital fuel-injection.

I'm tired of messing with carberators. Fuel injection seems to work extremely well in bikes. Right now, my carb floats are a bit on the rich side. So, when riding below the torque-curve (3-5k RPM), I get a nasty sputter once in awhile. I know that it's running rich (fuel level is too high); added to the fact that tonight, while riding in 100% humidity pouring-rain, the sputtering was a lot worse. Higher humidity makes a bike run richer, colder/drier weather does the exact opposite. Look's like Mr. Mungla will be pulling the carbs tomorrow (along with learning news words that I can call them); I'm sick and tired of this sputter.

Oh well, you guys enjoy your fuel-injected Suzuki's, I'll join yea in a year from now.

Mungla- I honestly don't know what the premiums are on the bike. I have an umbrella policy which covers my car, residence and some other things. I don't think it added more than a couple hundred dollars to the total though, and I live in a Boston suburb.

I pay $20/month for full coverage on my 250R Ninja. That's through State Farm. I'm 17 years old (will be 18 before I buy a 600), no tickets, no accidents, 10% discount for being honor student, 30% discount for driver's ed (forget if that applies to the bike or not), 10% discount for MSF. Hrm, anymore discounts that I can get? lol.

I'm just hoping that it won't be more than $100/month. If that's the case, I would have to go liability only; which I don't really want to do.

<< So I was riding along minding my own business when this preppy lawyer looking type pulled up to me in a Viper at a long red light and gunned his engine. I looked over and the SOB sneered. Normally I don't race anyone. What would be the point since I know I'll win every time? Anyway he looked so arrogant I had to play with him. I raised my visor and said "You really don't really want to race me. You'll hate your car if you do and I'd hate to see that happen" The gauntlet thrown down now, he had to take the bait. The light turned and I let him pull ahead. I waited until I could see his smile in his side mirror, and then I dropped down 2 gears and smoked him like he was standing still. Heres the kicker. We had to stop at another red light where I said "I warned you that you'd hate your car". I hung a left and left him steaming :D >>

If I had a viper I would have said, "Oh, I know no car can beat a good sport bike but damn, it's fun trying." :)
When we got to the next red light my response would have been, "Thanks for the fun."

Then again I find the thrill in the racing, not the winning.

<< 20/month...that's gotta be a lie >>

Probably not. Vehicle insurance rates are directly related to how much and how likely a driver and his vehicle will do damage to other vehicles. Motorcycles have very little mass, so in collisions they do very little damage when compared to even compact cars.

How much of a lie do you think it is? If you think it's a lie, I don't give a crap.

Anyhow, I pay something like $130 every 6-months. Ok, so it's $21.666667 a month.

Also, insurance rates on motorcycles are figured by taking into account the motorcycle's mass and its engine displacement. My Ninja is called the "baby" Ninja because it is the smallest one available. The engine has a displacement of 250cc. The bike weights around 330lbs, wet weight. The Suzuki GSX-R600 that I'm looking at has an engine displacement of 600cc and weights in at 379lbs (dry weight, so 400lbs wet). It's a good thing that they don't look at the top speed and acceleration when figuring the rates. I've had my 250 up to 110mph (readout on my Sigma sport-computer that is calibrated by using mile-markers). While the 600 has a top-speed of something like 165mph. Big difference, eh? :)

If you had a professional motorcycle rider ride your Suzuki and a professional car driver drive the Dodge Viper lets say at the old
Riverside racetrack in Southern Calif and race for ten laps, I would bet $$ on the Viper...

And yes, I have owned more than ten motorcyles in my life time!

Wouldn't the riders medical bills add to the rates?

What?? I don't think I get your reasoning behind that, I'd think a nice bike would tear the Viper up...

Possibly an ignorant question, but why do you say that? I thought bikes could take corners incredibly fast.

Hopefully you also know the smaller a track gets the worse a Viper performs, right now it's handoff's between Viper and Vette, when they race on a tighter coarse the Vette's are winning, get some large straights and the Viper is. Watch the Motorola cup sometime. Eitherway tho, I don't see a Viper beating a Busa on a tight or lage track.
