I am thinking about getting a DVD burner and need some suggestions.

I am considering getting the Pioneer DVR-109, the Plextor PX-716A, or the PX-716SA. I wonder if the Plextor drives are worth twice the price of the Pioneer? Also, is the SATA Plextor any better than the PATA one? Thanks for any help.

Worth it, probably not to most people. But to me I went with both Plextors you mentioned and don't regret it one bit. They have been a major force in PC optical drives for a while and have always proven to be highly reliable so I will continue to pay the premium. Sometimes you can find a good deal on them, IIRC, I saw them as low as $109.99 after a rebate, some may have found them even cheaper.
