For a headlight? Try $20

Low Steering Power - anywhere between $48 to $500
Dunno about this but does it just need power steering fluid?

Wheel Bearing - anywhere between $150 to $1000
Seems high for a bearing? I'm not a mechanic but you can get a new wheel for $150.

What I mean by headlights is the whole left headlight unit is broken, he showed it to me, it's all taped so it wont fall off... i dunno...
about the power steering, yeah he said the power steering fluid was leaking, he said it might be as cheap as $48 but it can go as high as $500 to fix it...

and about steering bearing, I know that sounds definetly high, maybe this guy really is trying to screw me 🙁

a wheel bearing is not hard to replace. Go to a junkyard and get a used headlight. What is leaking in the steering? I replaced the entire power steering of my Jeep for $150, including resevoir, pump, pulley, and steering box.

thanks for the advice but this is a really small college town, i don't know where i would find a junk yard at... who or where should i ask? probably the mechanic knows it i guess? hmm i will be pretty happy if my power steering costs around that because what the mechanic told me is so much higher 🙁

Look in the phone book for junk yards (auto scrap yards) call them up and tell them what parts you need and what make year car you have. If they don't have the parts, they have a hot line that goes out to other yards and they can find the parts for you.

Good luck

thanks a lot brut, i will try that now. 🙂

Regarding the headlight... If it's just the kind you replace the entire thing for.. yeah, $20. But if it's the kind you only replace the bulb in, and he needs to replace the headlight lens/housing, at least $100. I've been driving with a hole in the lens... I blow a bulb every other time it rains (cold water, hot glass = shatter). But, it's cheaper for me in the long run.

thanks for the reply, i guess i ll have to change the whole thing because it rains every other day in here.. 🙁 sucks 🙁

Alright I got everything fixed, they were cheap to fix as you all said 🙂 The Power Steering had a hose cracked up, so I replaced that, and that was the only expensive part ($240 retail, $160 is what I paid), the headlights, my friend found me a new pair I can use from somewhere for $30  and wheel bearing, no $$$ 😀 Thanks all.

I don't understand. You thought the car looked so nice, yet some light is broken and you somehow didn't notice this? You didn't notice any of these numerous "broken parts" before buying it?

and yea buying before inspecting is stupid... 😛

At least you got it fixed.

see if ur state has some lemon law.. because those are serious problem, if ur state has fair disclosure laws, then u can threaten to sue and stuff.. if not, ur out of luck

Wow...I don't know how people could ever do something like that, especially with something as important as your vehicle. It's not like you're going buy a PC or components w/o looking everything over, so why not spend $XX to have a mechanic look it over first?

Sucks to be you.

so the car in your sig, the one you are selling. is that car also the subject of this thread??

I hope not.

well it's the car on my signature but i had the car on sale before that power steering fuse cracked up, so it's not like i put it on sale after the hose problem came up. and i also fixed it anyways. and the headlight crack wasn't visible from outside, it's something inside, so you have to unscrew a lot of things to see, so there was no way i could see it while i was looking at the engine and etc. anyways i took the car to a mechanic the other day and he said everything was perfect, so i trust this car but it's too expensive to take care off... anyways, before i sell this to anyone i will encourage them to take it to a mechanic cause i'm honest.
