I am scared of telling people where I am from.

Then why tell them? If you have accent you can always work it out, it isn't that difficult if you try really hard. There are special courses that would help. Yes, I can tell people who have accent are always treated differently, no matter what country they're from. For example, you said it yourself that they asked you where you were from.

self defense isn't unethical, immoral or illegal, do what you have to do to stay safe
makes sense to me

I agree.... Of course, the US has nothing against IRAQ. We only hate the monkey that runs that country....as well as his corrupt sons, but they're only a product of a dimented murderer.

Yeah it sucks when people have preconceived ideas about you doesn't it?

I've heard em all, they don't even make me feel bad anymore. I actually make fun of myself a little bit because i find it humorous how much stereotyping invaded our culture. Granted, these are only to my friends, I wouldn't make any of these jokes around people I didn't know.

Don't tell me you are one of those taiwanese who don't consider themselves Chinese

The only "true" taiwanese are the aborigenes.
Yes, there are some cultural differences between mainland and Taiwan, but is basically the same thing. Is like people from Sicily saying they are not Italians.

btw, Afhgani girls and Persian girls in general are usually very beautiful.

Anyway if you think that's bad, my Pakistani friend's name is first Osama, that's right OSAMA.

Fortunately no one in school has harrassed him since he's a very nice guy.

But still, that's harsh. I don't think he ever wnet to the States after 9/11, they probably wouldn't let him in.

Sheesh, it actually made you feel bad people assuming that you were really intelligent and great at math, and that your family is tight-knit? Wish my people were cursed with such positive stereotypes.

be proud of where you are from, I am IRANIAN/PERSIAN whatever you want to call it. there is nothing wrong with where you are from, just some morons that decide to judge you without knowing you and that my friend is callled racism in my book

Just like Mongolian is not chinese?

Just like the only true americans are the native americans? Dude...how long does it take for people from a country to change their nationality to another?

he should just say where is from. I dont' think he is from Afghanistan because Pathans (according to my parents) are very proud people. A little like Punjabis, but not as cool 😉.

So end the suspense now "Tommy" where ya from?
