9.8 gigs.

Looks like it won't be playable until Thursday. Will let you non-owners know how it is. I think there might be 2 of you left here.

Yeah if I hadn't sunk over 100 hours in this game a couple years ago I'd probably give it another go. I just can't bring myself to replay it all over again.

Hope you have fun!

It's just a updated graphical engine for the most part but than again a few mods already did that. :p

That and 64 bit support but remember this will need to wait for modders to update their mods if you want them to work on this version.

If you have the original game and all of the DLCs then you will have access to the SE version correct?

gah. all DLCs... hmm... no. no time. I'd rather have all DLCs of Just Cause 3 instead.

Heh, just saw it's in my backlog, never played and forgot I even had this game, maybe I might install it this time.

I'm also preloading.

Yeah, I've put a couple hundred hours in the game since launch, but much of that was just goofing around with different mod combos. Looking forward to giving it another go...

I sold a mask back in the day, so I'm going to be looking to rectify that. Might as well do it in the SE.

As long as I can still have my little rabbit companion.

I'm excited to play Skyrim for the first time with the remastered edition! I knew I held off for a reason

So if I only have the base version of the game on Steam, I'm out of luck? Have to have the DLC's?

OK, for reasons I cannot fathom, about 30 of my games need updating today.
Is Steam trying to slow me down? Or am I paranoid like usual?

Mods do not touch the engine, they can only tweak what's already there. This will bring the Skyrim engine up to spec with Fallout 4, which will enable some new visual effects and lighting features, greater viewing distance, more stability and of course 64-bit (no Out Of Memory errors).

Of course a heavily modded "classic" Skyrim will still look better, but once modders update their mods for the new engine, it has the potential to look even better.

i only finished the main quest, the brotherhood, wizard, werewolf and thieve's guild, and the daedric quests.

While I wont say your wrong, as yes I could see 72 hours being enough to "win" the main quest ( and miss about 80% of the games content) as most games today are 10-30 hours to complete 100%. This game is about exploring, finding little tidbits/stories that do not pertain to the main quest line. And again i get it, some people need a path to follow and specific finish to end a game, nothing wrong with that. In my opinion your missing out, but in yours its maybe just a waste of time. I have played the game through to "almost" completion 3 times, mage, unarmed, and thief builds. I never finish the game as I too would feel its "over" and wouldn't do the side quests.

As for me I preloaded and am excited to try a sword and Board build, but really want to build a mage again.. maybe 2 play through s with the new updated graphics?

Sadly, you're correct. You must have the 3 DLCs as well, or the Legendary edition.
Not a huge deal... I got the game for $5 and wasn't all that into it... just thought a graphics bump might make it worth revisiting.

I'm one of the few who have never played Skyrim. Legendary jumped in price I assume because you get the new game for free with it.

Edit:So will the remastered version not be available as a standalone sale for PC? or will it go on sale after the 28th as a separate product? All I see on steam is that you need to buy the game and DLCs to get it.

I'm pretty excited about this release, I totally plan on making my dump again in Whiterun. I'm curious if the limit of items I can discard on the map will have increased, since last time it locked the game up after threw too much stuff in the creek. You can get the legendary version of this over at cdkeys.com for alittle over 12 dollars right now.

Does this version come with pre-installed bouncy boobies? Seems like there were about 100 mods for that feature last time I was on the Nexus.

They didnt say anything about boobs.

And in 3 hours I'll let you know either way. My main concern is they fix all the game-breaking bugs, and at least attempt to deal with a few hundred glitches.
