There is no right or wrong as far as camping goes. Different people like to play different ways and servers have the right to there own rules and that's all there is to it. Camping can be fun, sniping can be fun, so can being an idiot & running off by yourself sometimes. It's all good. Gotta try something different every once in awhile and there will always be people who bitch & complain about something or another. Would you like some cheese with that wine?

Being a 16k server with no restrictions, you tend to see a lot of AWP whores. This is completely fine by me and I've gotten used to it. Hell, even I pick up the AWP every once in a while. However, I am a born rusher. I can't sit in one place for too long. Depending on spawn, I rush a particular spot, regardless of team.

However, I always see certain plays on CT all the time. They just camp with their AWP and think they're good when they camp pit for most of the round and then pick off a few guys each round. I don't mind that either, but it's so fun rushing where they camp and giving them a hard time. Long A pit rushes FTW.

Heh. Yeah, there is always the call for the ban hammer.

I remember going long as T on prodigy and encountered 5 CTs in that little room right after. First shot with the AK took one down, but after seeing a shit ton of dudes I started backing out while spraying. All 4 died. I don't even think any of them fired at me...no idea why? They all voted to ban me though for "hacking".

I spam my binds a few times and people generally get moving. If they don't, I slap them around a couple times with 0 damage. They move. If they don't, I start slaying. A couple slays and they become one of the first to get out of spawn. 1:29 slays FTW.

Edit: The D2 server also has a 'Defuse or DIE trying rule'. If you are a rank whore who just camps as CT even after the bomb is planted, you can ride the lightning. If I'm not mistaken, a slay is -30 points. Dying from the bomb or getting shot is far less. It's in your best interests to defuse or die trying.

I hate when people don't try to defuse. Especially after I soften up the bomb defense and then croak and there's one dude left.

My skills are too much to type out here. I wouldn't want to make your stories look bad!

I think my best is 7 in a GG on deagle. The GG type where you do normal rounds not just one long round.

The most I've ever killed in a single game was 13 people. It was a 54 player server playing de_pira_legos (a variant of Piranesi). It owned; I hit almost 2/3 of the entire terrorist team. I died at the end, though, because the guy shot me once when I had shot him 4 times with 88 damage.

man i miss playing with my clan too......i love rushing too, cant snipe worth crap unless i have a scout, for some reason i can do pretty well with the scout. moving on, i've had a few instances when i first started playing in office, i would only play office and would rush with tmp/p90/mac10 and just whore the thing all around the map shooting everyone except teammates. i prefer gun game now, i start slow in the pistols, but as soon as i hit smg/rifle i just fly through them, got better with the awp and 249 though...still suck at grenade and knife though....can never get those fast enough.

Sounds like the noobsgalore dust2 server. I started playing CS:S again on that server after taking a break for over a year. I'm actually starting to get good again. The non-stop hordes of cheaters got to me after awhile and I quit in disgust. Of course, it doesn't seem to have improved noticeably now that I've returned to it again. :| Wall hacks, speed hacks, aimbots and who knows what else. I simply can't understand how somebody using a cheat can actually feel proud of their score. It makes no sense to me.

And the number of people AWPing drives me nuts after awhile. I try to vary weapons, but there are SO many people who do nothing but run around and kill you from the other end of the map. Or worse yet, jump around a corner and scope you from 10 feet away, all in a split second. To me, seeing people jump around like a kangaroo while firing a scoped weapon is the height of stupidity. What the hell was Valve thinking when they allowed this? Have none of them actually fired a scoped rifle before?

They should have at least a 2 second penalty where their crosshairs bobble around to simulate a sniper attempting to accurately acquire a target after making a sudden movement. I'm pretty sure that if I tried any of the stunts I see long-time AWPers doing while I was out deer hunting, I'd have better luck trying to club the deer over the head with the rifle than actually shooting at it.

Hey it can be done. I'm always hopping around when I'm deer hunting.

It's not so much that I can't AWP, because I'm sure I could if I practiced more with them. It's the fact that unless they're restricted or limited to a small number per team, it seems that 70% of the people out there will have one. At least on dust2 or a similiar map that has the potential for long shots.

The way Valve has the AWP configured right now allows it to hit accurately from both long range AND short. Have you ever tried finding a target at extremely close range with a scoped rifle? It's next to impossible. I have a scope on both my short range deer rifle (.32 Special) and long range rifle (.243 Ruger Stainless Model 77 Mark II). And there's absolutely no way I could hit a moving target at close range looking through the scope of either one. That's why I have a sidewinder mount on the .32 and can still use the open sights.

Besides, when was the last time you saw video footage of Army snipers bunny-hopping while firing? I mean, if it's such a great idea you'd think the military would have adopted it as their SOP by now, don't you think?

I find it pretty funny you think cs is supposed to be battlefield 2 or graw or socom. CS is a game and thats the way they wanted to make the game (fake), people awp because it gets them the most kills per round and the best chance for survival. People do whatever they can to help them win, B-hop, strafing, quick scope, quick switch, crouching, etc..... if you cant compete, dont complain.
