I AM LEGEND

How did you like it? I just got back from it and I am very undecided. I loved some elements but hated others. Will Smith's acting was superior though. Either way, it was still a good popcorn flick if nothing else.

The religious allegory was lame. A lot of detail was missing. Even the title line was awful. The book's usage of the title was far superior. With that said, it was exactly what I expected for an American audience.

Batman trailer made it worth it.

Film itself -- I thought it was pretty good until the sudden copout ending. I mean that safe he stuffed the woman & kid in is closable from the inside right? Get inside, wait for baddies to break through, toss grenade, close door. Good character development through the movie though, audience can really see how living alone has worn him down.

That was the most tense movie I have ever seen. It was so tense that some people in the theater had to leave and people were screaming at some parts. I thought this movie was awesome.

It was a great movie, but I missed the feel of the book a lot. I also enjoyed the ending of the book much more than the movie. I also wish the last words had been I am legend, not light from darkness, but im just picky.

It was alright. I hate it when zombie movies dont cover the back story. Personally for me, the social fallout of such an infection and the slow decline of civilization is much more interesting than the hashed and rehashed survival stories in a post-apocalypitc zombie-infested world. Even with that aside, the movie wasn't that good. The CGI zombies were no wear near as menacing as in 28 days later and it seems silly the entire world would die except for some random ass base in Vermont. There are plenty of secluded areas in the world... in the United States even...

All in all, I felt like it was more or less 28 Days Later meets Castaway

Pretentious much?

Anyway, I liked it a lot although the ending was a bit lame.

just saw it, i liked the ride but the ending was meh.... same for the other last movie i saw, no country for old men

I really enjoyed it and like SonicIce said, poor dog 🙁

Will Smith IS a legend. 😛 How anyone can not enjoy him in his movies is beyond me. Definitely check this movie out.

It's nice to see Will Smith maturing in his acting. I never really took him as a serious actor back in the Men in Black days, but his last couple movies have been solid performances on his part.

I think the most intense part was when the dog ran into the dark alleyway after the deer, and Will had to go in after him. The camera work made me feel like I was there with him, moving around in the dark scared as hell to make a sound, and not knowing what lurked behind each corner. Good sh*t. 😀

thought this was part 3 of the trilogy:
28 hrs later
28 days later
Legend was suppose to be 2.8yrs later? (Will Smiths time frame is ~3yrs from start of disaster?)

I havnt seen it, and frankly i dont plan on it. Why of why can they not make a movie that follows the book exactly. It that so damn hard?!!?! After watching the trailer and reading the review at avclub, this part exactly ("While any resemblance between Matheson's story and this adaptation is largely coincidental?the film drops all the book's twists, its ending, and even the meaning behind the title") I have no interest in seeing it. It may be a good movie, but it is in no way I AM LEGEND.

I think I am ready to go buy a GT500, and expedition, and the new explorer.
With that I will also take the apple powerbook and a bunch of iPods.
Loved the product placements throughout the movie 🙂
