no he's just applying.

but man that schools expensive. 32K tuition is crazy. also touring any school (well any above saverage school) will leave you with the impression that it'll be a great place. thats why tours suck mostly.

ps. what are (will be) you majoring in ?

iirc, i don't think he'll find out 'til January.

Another Cornell Alum here, CS degree through Arts school.

A great school but very big in terms of students, and the Engineering school is ROUGH.

Ithaca is beautiful but it is the middle of nowhere. Also, be prepared for the sun to not shine at all November-April. It can get depressing.

And, a personal plug... if you're musically inclined, consider participating in the Chimes Competition in the spring... then everyone on West Campus can hate you for waking them up at 7:45am! (Playing the bells is a ton of fun).

Here's hoping for good news!

i found out december 15th for early decision when i applied. glad i had the rest of the senior year to just cruise.

man i miss college town.

Haha pwned

Cornell Engineering representing. You won't regret going there, if you get in. Good luck.
I can't think of another school I'd rather go to for undergrad engineering. UC Berkeley would be a close second, based on the rigor of students leaving with bachelors only. Cornell really focuses on good undergrad education, unlike many other schools that treat it as necessary evil and focus on research and grad students.
You will be better prepared after doing undergrad at Cornell than most would be after doing Masters at schools like the other Ivys, Stanford, etc. I am talking from experience of cruising to my Masters at a top school after doing my bachelors at Cornell.

I also applied to Cornell ED, and we find out in 45 minutes. I'm so nervous its embarrassing!

Deferred 🙁. Better then rejected, but still not accepted. Was expecting rejection, so I'm semi-happy.

CALS: College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, majoring in Communications. Not exactly their most competitive major, but its obviously not an easy school to get in to.

We'll see what happens come late-March. It's a big long-shot, but its still a chance. Cornell was brutal with their decisions this year; tons of people with 2300+ SAT's and 4.0 GPA's got rejected and deferred. It really was all over the board. I'll be keeping them updated with anything noteworthy that happens to me from now until decisions time, but I can really only hope for the best.

No, I didn't. Cornell was the only Ivy League school that I applied to.

I know someone in CALS right now, Atmospheric Science major. I think what helped him get in was a prior summer visit with the head of the department, and it wasn't during regularly scheduled visiting times. He made a one on one appointment to talk to the guy when he wasn't as busy.

So did bradT get in on ED or what?

Cornell is a really good school for practically everything... although, I'd have to say that if you plan on going to grad school try to keep your undergrad expenses down by going to a state school, get really good grades, and get into a good grad program.

Well, I have a letter of rec. from an associate dean of CALS, who is a family friend. I think this is the sole reason that I was referred, and not rejected.

Pretty sure he said in another thread that he was rejected.

Cornell is a fantastic school. The kids I have worked with from Cornell undergrad were all top notch! Much better than other Ivy products.

Whatever they´re doing at Cornell must be working.....and it immediately shows when you work in a company...you get exposed right quick!
