You may have seen my list of 7 schools that I narrowed down to in my other thread, but I have decided to go all out with Cornell. I toured it last weekend and it was enough to make me apply for early decision. I would accept going there right this instant if I were given the option. I can't wait!
I will be mailing all of my applications and essays for it tomorrow. Any Cornell grads here? Hopefully I will join your ranks next fall!
 
Which college are you applying to? I did my undergrad in MAE and grad in SYSEN and you'll definitely be challenged intellectually. It may be hard at times but it is also very satisfying. Good luck on your path to becoming a Cornellian!
 
I'm a freshman at a Cornell. I guess it's ok here. Coming from DFW, Ithaca does blow and it's cold. Good luck on your app though. I heard they allowed you to apply to 2 colleges this year at Cornell?

Yeah, but I am only applying to the College of Engineering.

Oh, and I LOVE the cold that New York brings. I have grown up with it all my life.

Oh, and I LOVE the cold that New York brings. I have grown up with it all my life.

Are you a white guy? Make sure you check the box stating you are (if so). Caucasians are a MINORITY at Cornell. It may help get you in.

OP, you have made a good decision, that's what I did for Cornell as well 5 years ago. make sure you make an effort to do an alumni interview. I think that's important.

it will take some adjustment for certain (took me 3 years), but you will be ok, make the right friends and they will have your back.

be prepared to study really hard though, engineering is no cake, but at least they dont have grade deflation. check out stella's as soon as you are 21, that's my spot.

Was it cold when you toured? Probably not since you came away with all positive impressions.

You're going to freeze your ass off. Visit the place again in Dec/Jan. I bet you'll wish you stayed home.
