working within the meat industry last 7 years cook the ground beef to 160c and your fine thats when all the bacteria is killed.

The steaks can last a few days in the fridge. No reason to throw any of it away.

I think he said it spent an entire day at room temperature. No way in hell would I eat that.

There's worse thing to deal with in a marriage then that...sheesh. For Example, coming home from work early to find your ex-banging ( was my wife then) one of her coworkers.... I almost made an episode of CSI after seeing that :disgust:

I admire your self control (or lack of tools) ... I'd have killed them both.
I honestly don't know what I'd do in that situation. I'd like to think that I'd get some video for my divorce lawyer then hose them down with cold water to kill the mood. But I lack restraint in lesser situations so I think I'd wind up going ballistic on them.

Nice thought but unfortunately in Wisconsin it is a "no fault" divorce so her being unfaithful unfortunately means squat to the judge 🙁

You're right that you shouldn't refreeze meat after it's been thawed...

BUT, you could have cooked all of the hamburg, THEN refroze it... Then, in the future, if you needed hamburg for tacos, chili, spaghetti sauce, etc, you could just dump it right in.

they would have thawed in 24 hrs true but still somewhat cold. Theyd be fine.

You guys have probably not knowingly eaten ground beef like that. Where do you think all the green/old steaks/trim from the beef goes into...

Seconded. I would have freaked out.

I'd have freaked out, but probably would have died from heartbreak before I could do anything to them.

Don't cry over spilt milk.

Everyone makes mistakes... I can only presume you've done a boneheaded thing once or twice in your marriage.

exactly.......... also cook All the steaks & buffalo then freeze what you don't eat 😀

Now if you were a vegetarian you would not have these sorts of problems.

<---- Goes and has a streak dinner

A streak dinner? Is that where you run around naked in front of your food? 😕 :Q 😀

Have a BBQ, then sue the butcher for the bad meat that killed all your family.

Seriously, who cares? Its just a little meat. What you listed is worth like $50 at most.

$50 - $100 is the figure a few of you have thrown around.

You guys obviously have no clue as to what good steak cuts and Bison cost, do you?

It's not all just regular ground beef hamburger.... only a few pounds or so of that.

Give it a try and be sure to post a thread entitled "I just ate some bad meat and am yakking my guts up. Should I go to the emergency room?" 😛

Seriously, freezing bad meat will most likely just make the bacteria go dormant and will do nothing about any toxins they may have released in the meat.
