I picked up the little sweet thing and starting talking to it, he/she/it was very friendly. He/She/It crawled up my arm, down my bare chest, on my chair, and then up beside my moniter. I told the little guy to stay there b/c I was going to share some vanilla ice cream with it, but he left. I guess he didnt like the flavor vanilla.

thats a tender heart wrenching story... i did the same thing..but mine was all black and when it flipped over so i could rub its belly it had this red like hour glass tatoo....oh and it was pistachio i was going to share with it til it pissed me off and i decided to share the gum stuck to the bottom of my shoe forcefully to that ungrateful biatch!

I now have a rat as a freind that i call ben:heart: :p

Brown recluses are not just spiders, folks.

My brother got bitten by one one summer and an area of his back about a foot in diameter turned brown and skin started falling off. His picture now graces his doctor's office.

The bite of a brown recluse is quite toxic. And from what I hear, quite painful.

Damn, im very thankful that I havent been bitten by any kind spider yet, but I do feel very sorry for those who have. I wish I was bitten by a genetically enhanced super spider so I can have super powers. (i'd probably die)

If a spider was taking a shower with me, id tell it ", TAKE A PIC DIRTY lovely human, IT LASTS LONGER BIIATCH!!" and then either stomp on it until I cant see its body anymore or take the bar of soap and hammer it to death.

I'd have freaked if it had happened to me. Fortunately, we don't have gargantuan arachnids around here. We do have others, though. I go out of my way to make sure they stay out of our living space:
  • Make sure door sweeps seal tight.
  • Seal all pipes passing through floors and walls
  • Use Diazinon around the perimeter of the house
  • Use "Sevin" or similar dust anywhere the buggers might creep in

I can handle spiders. It's just the goddam gigantor mexican spiders that we've been invaded with lately. It's been so damn rainy that the exterminator has said it'd be better to let it be dry outside...but I'm about to tell him to ccome anyway. Last night, I saw a big sob on the floor next to a piece of dog food...

" 'Cho Mahn--you gona eat dis?"

Man. Roaches. Suck.

The Brown Recluse (aka Violin Spider) is one mean bastard, more poisonous than a Black Widow and about as painful, IIRC. I had a black widow crawl up my arm once when I was tearing up carpet and that was not a fun experience.

Just be glad it didn't bite you, otherwise you'll be in serious amount of pain right now.
