Influenced by him early on most likely, but there are very fundamental differences between the two.

Your association of the Nazi's and Nietzsche is obtuse.

BTW, your link in the OP redirects to a Netflix login page. I don't have a netflix account.

Ayn Rand and Nietche are both products of social darwinian thoughts. they are bothe fucked in the head beacuse the ONLY time a society could work like that would be if if everyone was exactly equal, just like in true Marxism.

Extremeism doesn't work either way, that is why there is no successful capitalist nation and no successful socialist nation, ALL prosperous nations are mixed economies on various degrees.

I'd say that since socialism is graded on interference of the government on the free market the US isn't even in the top 50 since Reagan.

I'm guessing you two did not see the Netflix video? They mention Rand as being a fan of Nietzsche.

That is really stretching things. If you believe what you said, you're truly in over your head.

What Rand preached is so far from the Nietzschian universe it's not even funny. Because she may have made some off-hand compliments means little... many thinkers can appreciate certain aspects of many different philosophies. The fact that she thought Nietzsche, as a poet, sometimes projected a magnificent feeling for man's greatness doesn't change the fact she thought he was a mystic, irrationalist, and overall tribalistic turd.

I think the point is that they are both social Darwinists just like Hitler was.

And if you actually know enough about either of them you'll understand that the very simple minded point he tried to make was just that.

I can't disagree with him on that though because it is without a doubt in my mind true.

Look at the types of leaders Africa has produced since liberation. What a fine bunch...
Many of them helped into power, and/or actively propped up by us wise, benevolent westerners I would like to add. Sometimes directly from our governments or extranational organizations, or via corporations. Lots of wars in africa have been directly armed and funded by the west.

I wouldn't necessarily call Nietzsche's "master-slave" morality or Rand's Objectivism Social Darwinism. And even if you grant each a tiny bit, Nietzsche's is based on "blood" and Rand's based on ability. That makes all the difference.

And as far as the OP goes, the Nazis completely spun Nietzsche's words for there own warped benefit, so saying Nazi ideology is based on Nietzsche doesn't quite fly. Nietzsche was inconsistent and unclear half the time so it's understandable how the Nazis could twist him into their rationalizations.

Either way, it's Social Darwinism, i don't know why that is hard to admit?

Nazi Ideology was originally based on blood but later on ability so it fits wither way, those who survived were fit and those who did not were not. You do know about the tests even for those who were considered aryan?

I am not saying anything but that, i am not going to analyse Nietche or Rand any more than that because if we were to do so in depth it would take a much longer time than i (and i'm sure you too) have to spend on something which we'd eventually agree upon anyway.

My only point was the one stated and that is how i think Dari got the idea. I do not disagree with him on that point and considering what you just wrote, neither should you. (feel free to disagree with him on many other points though, i'll probably back you up if i have the time to do so).

IOW cheers.

Yes. We see it in nature (only the strong survive) and we do it when raising domesticated animals, whether to eat or as pets. If I you had humans as pets, wouldn't you generate the best like we do dogs?

Purebred dogs are often prone to various genetic maladies.

Eugenics is pure evil, Dari...get back on the meds until the voices go away.

Best of luck to you.

Now stop posting such ignorant bullshit.

Feralkid,

You realize that the "Human Genome" has been mapped, and that there are already offerings in place to genetically free (cure) you?

It's not Euginics... it will be a slow struggle as the Government is granted more and more rights, and one day, when you look into the Abyss, you will only see red-tape.

mmmkay.

WTH does your post have to do with Dari's sociopathic desire to raise human supermen?

Supermen, live.. Government squashes them.

It's a basic tenet of Ayn Rand, and the main point of Atlas Shrugged.

Speculation, hypothesis != desire. Do I even have to explain this to you?

So were you just hypothetically speculating when you wrote "I admit it. I support the ideology behind the Nazis" as your thread title?

I thought you were referring to what I wrote about having humans as pets. And my support of Nietzsche doesn't mean I support farming supermen. I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion unless you're confusing 'ideology behind the Nazis' with 'Nazi ideology', which can be two different things.

Then why not just title your thread "I like Nietzche"?

(99.44% less trollish)

Because it's my thread and I can title it as I see fit, so long as it's within the guidelines of the forum. Now that we've resolved your confusion with my wording I think we should let this mini-episode go.

I think it's a relevant and merited question. Why express your support for an idea by associating it with a group who twisted that idea and used it for something you presumably would not support at all?

Heh, you gotta laugh. You'd thought that human has evolved and learned that we become what we are and monkeys stay what they are because we work together, as family, as society, as city and as country. That means take care of the weak, the young, the elderly because you were once taken care of and even the weak has something to offer.

But no, some of us think the animal way is better and wanna revert to that......gotta wonder if they have the intelligence to be man...hehe.

Because of that excellent documentary. I'm sure most people here won't spend the time to study Nitzsche so I linked it to a documentary that showed the link between his philosophy and the Nazis. That would make it a more interesting discussion. If people wanted to simplify their opinion without understanding, there wasn't much I could do.

So, how about answering the question with your own words rather making people watch a 3hr documentary they may not even have access to?
