I accidentally bought female pants

Pretext: I do not know how European sizes work, and there was a pair of sweat pants I was interested in at a store. No female markings etc.

The size was 12 (medium) which I thought was weird. But I bought them. When I tried them on I realized they fit well but they were a little tight in the crotch area. Then I learned size 12 is for female sizes.

I am tempted to keep them since they are just sweat pants and they fit well. What would ATOT do?

OP, is this you?

Aren't they supposed to be mirrored? Like, the button/clasp is on the opposite side and the fold over the zipper (if present) is also on the opposite side. If so: Easy way to tell.
