Pretext: I do not know how European sizes work, and there was a pair of sweat pants I was interested in at a store. No female markings etc.

The size was 12 (medium) which I thought was weird. But I bought them. When I tried them on I realized they fit well but they were a little tight in the crotch area. Then I learned size 12 is for female sizes.

I am tempted to keep them since they are just sweat pants and they fit well. What would ATOT do?

Remember, you don't wear a garter with pants. Only wear them to hold up stockings under your skirt.

Accident? So the bra and panties on the adjacent rack didn't give you a clue??

Aren't they supposed to be mirrored? Like, the button/clasp is on the opposite side and the fold over the zipper (if present) is also on the opposite side. If so: Easy way to tell.
