well, i applaud their radical approach, but judging from the responses here, seems the engineer's efforts aren't appreciated. well, at least it's a small step in the right direction.

No, it isn't.

Uh, ok? Putting recycled plastic to a new use isn't a good thing? That is the key, not the savings in fuel (which they tacked on for some extra exposure with the current gas-focused media).

I actually think it looks ok. The front grill could use some work, but its not that bad (I really don't see how you can say its any worse than a lot of the other concept cars that are designed). Obviously it won't actually be made (especially not anytime soon).

I love how some of you are apparently automotive engineers and think that it won't be safe. They only shaved 130lbs off compared to using metal and glass. Really using plastic for some of the body panels would make sense as cars strength and safety comes from its frame not the body panels.

Using plastic/glass is a great idea IF the final product doesn't look like ****** in the end. To actually make a difference in the world, they need to sell as many as possible. With the way it currently looks, that will not be happening. Also, using plastic/glass to save weight is nothing new since the corvettes have been doing it for years with fiberglass.

so thats why jd power rates almost every hyundai model with 5 stars which means 'among the best'. or is that jd power is just wrong and you know more about cars than them?

It's a concept car, the production model will look less.. Interesting.. but the concept is interesting - a green car from the outside in.. nice work!

since the car is not a production vehicle, and just merely a demonstrator, i'll let the design pass. I just appreciate engineering of any sort; especially when things become really restrictive and you have to be creative with only a limited amount of materials with the manufacturing process in mind.

just saying that more engineers should be motivated to do this.

Their just wrong, and I know more.

Have you ever sat inside of a Hyundai? The interiors look as if they had fisher price make them with all the plastic.

And from your own link, not one of the 2k7 vehicles made 5 stars on appeal.

Take your fanboi'n elsewhere.

Their just wrong, and I know more. Their interiors are a faar cry from being cheap. maybe their 90's stuff? maybe? but their recent vehicles are very competitive.

I've sat in Hyundai cars before.

hmm.. US-brand cars and Nissan had worse interiors than Hyundai (materials-wise)IMHO...

The worse offenders is Chevy. oh goddamn, chevy as a whole has the cheapest interiors of any car brand I've ever been in. Or do they just do that to their rental vehicles on purpose?

haha. sorry.. I just had to point that out.

Also, I own an elantra and have been inside of a new sonata - solid cars with the sonata having a shockingly plush interior.

Do you drive an SUV by chance? A lot of people that drive SUV's use this as a reason to get one, but fail to grasp the idea that you are more likely to be hit by the truck because you drive an SUV.

Edit: Oh, and I like it looks pretty nice.

This car would look a lot better if it simply didn't have that ridiculous side door with the weird window built into it.

You think you know more, but you have clearly shown ignorance in one area. ;)

way to go.

btw, what you think of the interior of the Hyundai is purely subjective and says NOTHING about the quality of the vehicle.

fanboi?
