Hypothetical: The Secession of Western Canada

So basically Canada is a nation dominated by twats on the east coast. B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan are fed up with them. After we secede it will take a bit of time to organize a police force, government, military, etc. Probably easier to join the Americans eh?

I am sure America would be happy to have our resources and we would be able to migrate south with ease. A good situation for all involved. I honestly cannot think of a reason not to just go join them.

Heh would be interesting if they applied for union membership. Not sure if we would take them due to international politics. But I honestly wouldnt mind and would be excited to see the process unfold. It has been a half century since we last allowed a state to join our country.

One thing though. Once you join you cant leave 🙂

Another east coast tyrant is a pretty good reason NOT to join. You should pickup Alaska and keep to yourselves, you don't need a distant power dictating to you.

Would a central + western union work? You folks in the middle (Alberta) don't seem like you'd get along with B.C. people.

Considering it's central Canada with the resources everyone wants, I'm not sure why a union with anyone would be sensible. Go all UAE and rake in the profits and stay independent.

P.S. We in the East (Ontario) are often pretty sick of Quebec ourselves. Really 90% of this country would be happier if they took a hike.

Not going to happen. BC is nowhere near Alberta politically, especially when it comes to Separatists. Even in Alberta Separatist numbers are practically 0. What they lack in number they make up with loud mouths.

If a government is formed that includes the bloc separtists anything can happen. People are really getting riled up here.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if something happens like this in the future, either through dissolution of Canada as the entity as we know it or as a forceful takeover at some point.

actually we would be very viable as a seperate country...and us albertians love BC...besides the hippies of course

but theoreitically we are very capible of seperation and would survive quite well....we gots oil uranium wheat cow contential divide so water coal timber fish we would be fine

but no seperation but infact accountability in government caused by declairing the PQ treasonous for seperatist...then senate reform then proper seat-to-population ratio then more power for individual provinces and canada would be fine
