No, I do not have to dial a 1 OR the area code to reach this number.

It's still your fault, the local prefixes (first three digits) are listed in the first few pages of your phone book. While the ISP's webpage is did confuse you, I would think the disclaimer clears them of legal responsibility. Call up your phone company and plead your case

When I used dialup (quite a while ago now) I"d just check with the phone company real quick, it doesn't cost anything to do that to my knowledge and only took a minute.

The user is an idiot, they even tell you to DOUBLE CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE NUMBER IS ACTUALLY A LOCAL NUMBER, in big letters on all 3 dial up services I've ever used. I thought they all did to protect you from yourself.


Once you go DSL you never go back. Don't even it's all i got here. :p
