Probably he means $2 after the giftcard was applied..

Yes, his dinner total was approx $2.00 but the dining certs say ..
(for the 10.00 one) : Minimum purchase of 15.00 (so minimum would be 5.00)
(for the 25.00 one) : Minimum purchase of 35.00 (so minimum would be 10.00)

Although some 50% off I've seen have no limits, so did you buy something for 3.60, are restaurants not worried about the minimums, or are they simply not stated on the certificates?
