I agree people need to prepare to be on the safe side, but what I am talking about is the media is really blowing this thing up like crazy. They are making comparisons to storms in movies, calling this a perfect storm and they say it will be "the largest in recorded history" and "catastrophic". It will be a run of the mill storm that people on the east coast have seen endless times before.
Given the area that it covers and the amount of potential damage that exists; it is dangeroius.
Because it is not hitting an area acquainted with sotrms of this magnituted; people are not as prepared.
It is also affecting close to 1/4 of the nations population.
With the trees still ahving leaves; the ability for power lines down increases.
A wet fall increases the potential of flooding.
I have been through hurricanes (Cat 4,5) yet still respect the potential for damage that this can do. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
this is a big monster and moving slowly with ideal conditions. Not to be taken lightly by one who is affected. those that are making fun of it are fools.
