Please. Any idea why, as the government has had to take more extreme measures, it continues to spread? Those kids on spring break aren’t there because of Trump. As I said in the other coronavirus thread, western society is not culturally equipped to deal with the draconian constraints and selfless sacrifices that containment will require.

I expect there will be many mistakes to learn from. Trump’s actions will certainly be part of that assessment.

Coronavirus is a humbling reminder that despite our faith in government and society, all it takes is one small jolt for it all to come crashing down.

Over the lst 2 years as Americans we have had no faith in our government! Why? Because we all know Trump is in this for himself and he really cares little if you get the corona virus as long as the economy is strong!! You are expendable when it comes down to the virus vs economy!!

Mixed signals from this administration give people an "excuse" not to take preventive actions. Not saying they do it "because" of it.

Trump still sending out misinformation because Dr. Fauci had to correct him twice in the same presser just yesterday. Public attitudes are taken from the top.

Lying has consequences. I suspect panic buying started in part because people don't think this administration knows what they are doing.

Trump basing how he acts on a given issue based on what actions will get him votes is insane!'

It's deeper than that. There's a huge gulf between what govt can do for the American people & what the GOP will allow it to do. Because Socialism is bad & greed is good. We all get shoddy goods because that's all they're willing to pay for. Disbanding the NSC pandemic response team two years ago was just a small part of destroying the usefulness of democratic govt to serve their utterly selfish ideological ends.
