Hopefully the CIA's plan B works.

Morally, you deserve a bullet in your head as much as any criminal who would harm others.

Do you even understand that you have also made yourself the enemy of democracy?

Just because you are in a democratic nation does not mean that you deserve to be protected for your actions. A few dictators over the years were "elected" who would be better off dead.

The bar is very high to make that call, and Chavez is nowhere near it. Bush is a lot closer to that mark than Chavez.

We have a history of making that call for the wrong reasons - typically because of leaders who will not sell us their nation's resources below market, or other corporate conflicts.

You should go read the books by John Perkins on the matter of 'Economic Hit Men' and then get back to me when you have some of the history of assassinating elected leaders.

You are just as morally responsible for the violence that you vote for as if you were committing the violence yourself. But the armchair safety sure breeds arrogant immorality.

Do you even understand that you have also made yourself the enemy of democracy?

If by "Democracy" you mean someone who is doing everything in their power to make sure they never leave, then I guess you are right.

I bet you believe Medvedev runs Russia, too.

It's almost too bad that the price of oil fell so much--Venezuela had to end its Citgo-sponsored subsidized/free heating oil program for low-income folks in the US.

You know, that terrorist-lover Hugo Chaves was actually handing out heating oil to low-income Americans... 'cause he hates America so much... and stuff...

you are a retard. there is no other word that best describes this post.

Idiocy and lies. Chavez pushed through the power of the people to recall the president, and when faced with the US-financed opposition to recall him, pledged to honor the result.

He has fought to extend his ability to run for more terms (hello, Franklin Delano Roosevelt the equivalent of Stalin in your book), but has not done anything to violate democracy.

He has strengthened democracy - it's your evil leaders who tried to put the thugs in power in Venezuela by overthrowing democracy in a coup.

First thing they did when they took power from Chavez was to end parilament and as I recall possibly to suspend the Supremen Court and other democratic protections.

I bet you believe Medvedev runs Russia, too.

When you lack any argument and are wrong, toss out a straw man, false personal attack.

Wow. You buy that DU garbage hook-line and sinker.

His term extension was already voted down once by the people, yet he is still determined to make sure he never has to leave.

He supresses the opposition.

He looks up to Castro and Putin.

The writing is on the wall for that country.

If you could, I'd love to read your well-informed and impartial breakdown of what is retarded about my post. Pretty please?

If you can elaborate, I'll promise to not respond to all of your future posts with "UR RETARDEDS LOL."

Where are these conservative countries that are dominating? The failing USA and Saudi Arabia?
Be funny if conservatives decided to leave the country, where would you go to escape your boogeyman socialism? (that you are not even educated enough to differentiate between statist capitalist countries (USSR) and Democratic Socialist ones) Maybe you can be capitalist pirates off the east African coast!
A libertarians wet dream.

Here is just a few of the active Socialist Alliance/Democratic Socialist parties worldwide, there is a reason The Internationale is STILL the most recognized song in the world!

Keep believing the silly rhetoric in the USA, it is the ignorance here that will be our downfall of not working toward a more just society and wasting the opportunity we have to lead.

You speak of Communism being the failed ideology, Democratic Socialism is the standard for the modern world.

What Marx started so long ago was not what you speak of such as the USSR and China. You are left behind stuck in cold war ignorance.

The Left has nothing to be ashamed of, the capitalist countries have made mistakes just as much and had their causes perverted. In the end capitalism will lose and give way to social justice, just as a modern society becomes less bigoted.
Marx was right, from modern industrialized capitalistic economies rises true democracy.

Hugo doesnt give a crap about the poor in America. It was a publicity stunt to try and sway public opinion.

I guess it worked on some.

Regardless of your opinion of what he thinks. (you are not in his head)
At least he carries through and uses his resources for a good cause.
Would it make you happier if he donated oil profits straight to politicians?
And anyhow, seeing all the negative press he gets in the states from the corporate media he could use any good press he can get. What is the problem?
It sure is not hurting anyone.

I don't read DU underground, so you are wrong; they may be a great site, dunno.

His term extension was already voted down once by the people, yet he is still determined to make sure he never has to leave.

I don't blame him a bit for wanting to keep the country on the right track, but haven't seen one word that he's going to keep officein an undemocratic manner. Got evidence?

He supresses the opposition.

His corrupt opposition owns 90% of the media and uses it to blast him, largely with lies, 24x7, and he lets them continue.

He shut down one station - that participated in a coup to overthrow the elected government. You obviously think that's unreasonable. I don't.

He looks up to Castro and Putin.

Those who try to be independant may make strange allies. They're so outpowered, outfunded, under such pressure, I'll give them some slack. There is good and bad about Fidel. He's been a mass murderer and tyrant - and he's kept his nation independant under blggling pressure from the US, who among other things, has commited countles acts of terrorism against his small nation and attempted to assassinate him. Proud of that, are you? Castro has had great policies on medical care - training large numbers of doctors who are sent to other nations in the region to help - and he's had idiotic economic policies that hurt the people. You're going to have to be more specific to make a point there - want me to name some of the US's allies that have been far worse than Castro? Are you too much a hypocrite to condemn the US for the same thing?

The writing is on the wall for that country.

Ya, 'slowly progressing from a past of terrible right-wing corrupt concentration of wealth'.

Its a very mixed up market, which has become wholly consumer orientated, massing incalculable debt. There are to many billionaires and not enough on the ground middle class, whom defuse wealth amongst the working poor....like an 80 years old whom will work till he drop in his boots, and what for? to provide a billionaire with a 100million dollar motor yacht to go to the Bahama's for the "winter break".
People keep seeing red, but socialism isn't as bad as it might be "broadcasted".
You always get dictatorships used as examples of socialism, but what's a bought democracy really good for?
except collusion and nepotism.
In capitalism the end game is to knock out your "fair" competitors and carve up the markets in clandestine agreements amongst robbery baron "families".
;P
Cooperative run companies are the future, because profits take a back seat to needs of society and are free from the restrictions of short sighted corporate profit taking.
Ultimately we are too interdependent, It doesn't make sense to waste real finite resources, for the short term gains for so few, at the long term detriment of so many- pity Winston Churchill got it arse up!
And the gross hypocrisy of fat* bastards to claim the working poor as being "bludgers"!
*meaning cash fat.
How can you own a billion dollars or even 10million and look yourself in the mirror, while people starve or live in squalor!
