There's a topic in L&R that you would do well to read. Particularly a post that explains the meaning of religion to the OP. If all men held that message in their hearts, there could be no evil.
 
And of course no one misses the opportunity to get their face on the front page.

I sometimes wish the media would ignore such people so they stop trying. Same reason you dont give attention to children when they are throwing a tantrum.

I agree, if we chop off their hands, drill out their eyes, and crack their kneecaps out they wont be able to hurt anyone. We need to do this to ALL people that harm children.

I think Huck means well, even though he doesn't think straight. There was no separation of church & state when the crusaders took Jerusalem, slaughtered the inhabitants, or when the Turks took Constantinople & did the same, either. Whole towns were put to death in the wars of the Reformation, so as to save their souls. The Holocaust was an expression of religion.

More slaughter has occurred because of integration of church & state than the separation.
 
Is this the same Mike Huckabee who pardoned a guy who went on to murder 4 police officers? I wonder if he has a religious theory on how that occurred.

I honestly don't know anyone that likes Huckabee, and I have a lot of far-right Christian family members. Worthless human being.

When, as is overwhelmingly likely, we find out that Lanza has a long history of mental illness, what is Huckabee going to say? That allowing Christ into our schools would have cured Lanza?

I couldn't have said it better myself. Generally I don't think Huckabee is a bad man, but these types of comments are wrongheaded and disrespectful in my opinion.

So many killings and crimes against humanity have nothing to do with religion, past and present. I'm not defending religion as much as I am willing to enlighten you and remind you that the more recent killing sprees are due to human stupidity.

I'm no great fan of LL, but I'm pretty sure he's saying that Huckabee is wrong to suggest that introducing religion into the equation would have prevented this act of violence because there is, after all, much violence which is motivated by religion. Not quite the same thing as saying there isn't any violence not motivated by religion, which is the position you seem to be ascribing to him.
