Since there is a S6 hype thread, seems fitting that there should be a HTC One M9 one. 😛

Discuss, I guess?
 
Quite honestly, that camera was the biggest letdown for me with M7. I bought it precisely for the camera which was then easily outperformed by iPhone 5 AND SGS 3 - and that was all in low light conditions where it was supposed to excel...

I think it's going to follow the lead of the Desire 826 with a larger Ultrapixel camera up front and a respectable camera on the back.

My hope for the M9 is that it has a 5 to 5.2" screen and a 64GB option and that it keeps Boomsound.
 
1) I hope they continue with the windows phone version.

2) Ditch the ultrapixels and put in a decent OIS 10MP+ module to be competitive with other top end phone cams.

I just bought a Lumia 830, and it was a really hard decision between that and the M8 WP - the deciding factor was ultimately the camera, I played with the M8 and the image quality was lacking and very inconsistent (one shot would be ok, the next terrible and I couldn't see a good reason)

It should be interesting to see all the new flagships - S6, M9, G4, etc. It's getting harder for me to justify upgrades so frequently. I have way too many devices - M7, N5, and lately I have switched to the iPhone 6. I seriously have a problem 😉

Yeah, the M7/M8 could have gone on a diet, oh well. Let's see what HTC does with the M9.
 
pretty much looking for this to be my next phone with now having the htc one m8. keep the sd slot, reduce the height by getting rid of the HTC logo, keep the boomsound and upgrade the camera. i don't mind if it's 8-10 megapixels, but just to be great quality, with OIS. and almost naked Android would be good as always, if not totally naked.

I heard they're using the body of the HTC One to hide it in plain site. They're going to use a different one once it comes time for the unveil.
 
HTC need to cut their losses and stop making phones with Ultrapixel camera. Total gimmick. Not even good for front-facing. I can forgive them for releasing the M7 ultrapixel but releasing it on the M8 after it flopped was weak. They must have a shit ton of them if they're going to put it on the M9 too.

Rumor is they are going for 18 or 20 MP camera. So that means they won't be doing the ultrapixel thing anymore.
 
Ultrapixel is dead.

It was a fun experiment, but the iPhone still has the best camera followed closely by LG/Samsung.
