I wouldn't go so far as to say he has posted any facts. He hasn't substantiated any of his assertions. I just hope no-one has actually listened to him and wasted their money based on his strawman arguments.
T2K, you may be right that the panels aren't the same. I think I found the listing of panels that I remembered reading, but it doesn't include the ZR24w (not sure why I thought it did).
Philips 240PW9EB ............ LG.Display H-IPS (LM240WU4) panel
HP LP2475w ................... LG.Display H-IPS (LM240WU4-SLA1)
Dell U2410 ...................... LG.Display H-IPS (LM240WU4-SLB1)
HP LP2480zx ................... LG.Display H-IPS (LM240WU5) w/A-TW

You have yet to explain why you believe that a monitor that outputs fewer colors in the standard gamut range has better color reproduction in that range.
Panel type
S-IPS (H2-IPS technology for improved energy efficiency), Wide-Aspect, Active Matrix TFT (thin film transistor)
FlatpanelsHD seems to have received the ZR24W, with a review coming soon with a comparison to Dell U2410.

Got mine on Friday, and after fiddling around with the brightness and contrast settings on the monitor and using the color calibrator in Windows 7, I think the blacks are just fine.
Comparing it to my Samsung XL2370, I have to say this HP is pretty close in blacks. Colors are definitely better on the HP, and I'm definitely glad I bought it.
Does your anti-glare screen create a shimmering on solid colors, for instance the colors on this Anandtech pages especially the light blues whites and greys?
Here's a link to the data sheet for the ZR24w:

I don't think I'm following you... so you're saying the cheaper 8-bit panel in this HP has "better" (whatever that means) color reproduction than the panel in U2410 that not only goes beyond 8-bit when needed but also drives couple of the best ~24" graphic displays ($2k+ Eizos) on the planet...?You have yet to explain why you believe that a monitor that outputs fewer colors in the standard gamut range has better color reproduction in that range.
, would anyone in fact say the HP ZR24w is superior to the rev A01 Dell U2410, even in the sRGB space?
OK guys, this seems to be a good place to get some help. I followed the discussion but still decided to buy the Dell.
I just received my U2410, A01, and I am really impressed with everything but the colours. In fact, I feel there is a clear green tint in the standard settings. So far I am using sRGB settings, which seems to be alright. Even though I am not doing any serious photo or video editing it puts me off that such a monitor has this issue. I am using it for 70% office work, 20 browsing and 10 photo&Video.
I need this monitor due to its brightness, resolution and PIP function.
Could you guys give me some hints as far as calibration goes and some points how to further check the quality of my display?
Thanks. How do I best check the back light uniformity?
Cheers
+10000000000 to this.Because 16:9 is the suck? Why buy a 16:9 when 16:10 offers more pixels and can run 16:9 as well?
