The thing is, from what I understand, Radioshack never cleared them out. They might have them for that price. That would be funny.

Or did HP recall the tablets or make the retailers sell them?

I know Costco just slapped their pallets of Touchpads on a truck and sent them back to HP, as did many other retailers, so Radioshack may have done the same. I think it was up to the retailer if they wanted to deal with the markdown (and associated hordes of customers) or if they wanted to just do an RTV.

I say again.......

Not really.......

As in " Not really. I didn't miss that part."

Dude get a clue.

Dude learn the English language. You quoted "Sold Out" and then replied "not really"...you were about as clear as mud. Get out of your mom's basement and learn to communicate your thoughts clearly to people.

The problem with Costco was they were selling a HP TouchPad bundled with a sleeve at $449.50 IIRC. I was there Aug 20th Saturday 2pm at my local Costco and pallet was already marked DNI (do not inventory). Didn't see it anymore a few days later. :\

while using a touchpad i realized it didn't have what almost every handheld device has a built in calculator, was shocked

shipped 3.0.0 version is missing the calculator and the clock. You have to update to 3.0.2 and you'll have your calculator and clock. I was shocked as well.

One good thing to come of this is if I am unable to get a TP I will likely get a transformer because I got to mess with it while checking BB and really liked it.

I'm trying to decide if i should keep my last touchpad or sell it, can anyone answer these questions?

Can the touchpad run android now?

Is there a list of webos apps available for it now?

Is HP going to cover offer the full 1-year warranty if if breaks?

Android will probably be working within 30 days.

HP will honor the warranty.

App count - no idea.

Ha...same feelings here. However, wait until Amazon releases theirs. If anything it will make current tablets drop in price.

Running android I think will happen within 30 days, running it "well" not a guess.

I suspect warranty and support may be an adventure, anything from no warranty, to warranty varies a lot depending how it was purchased.

Yeah, I looked at the transformer myself. I am still trying to find out what panel it uses (i.e. IPS, etc). The micro-sd slot is much appreciated, and is one of the reasons why I am a little more interested in it. That said, the HP is priced right for their features at the moment (assuming you can find one).

Well I got a 32 GB last Thursday. Tinkered around with it some, but haven't had much of a chance. Tried doing the update, but I'm guessing the server for the updates were being hammered as the download kept timing out. It would do a tiny bit and then crap out. Finally finished the 32 MB update 3 days later on Sunday.

Perhaps tonight I'll get around to do all the updates like installing Preware that others have posted in various places on the net.

Transformer has IPS screen.

Mine did that also, until I did not click "USB mode" on the screen which explained it was for downloading data to the Touchpad. I ignored that message box and it downloaded the update just fine. Go figure.

I liked it better than Iconia screen. It was pretty similar to iPad 2 screen, though iPad 2 still has slightly better colors.

I have an Iconia and a colleague has a Transformer. I think the Iconia gets a tad brighter at maximum brightness but the Asus has better viewing angles. Colors are pretty much identical between the two.

I like the metal casing, better camera w/ flash (Asus has no flash), slightly better speaker quality and fullsize USB port on the Acer but the Asus is a bit lighter and easier to handle, plus Asus has been on top of things for Android updates. And of course, the keyboard dock attachment, but that's not a huge item for me personally.

iPad 2 still takes the cake for tablet screens IMHO.
