This thing just dealt the death-blow to Windows RT:
HP Link
- Tegra 4 (quad-core, 1.8GHz, 72 SPs)
- 1920x1200 IPS display
- 16GB on-board (what happened to 64GB default as announced in May??!)
- 8-10 hours battery life (what happened to 12 hours w/dock attached?)
- "Almost" stock Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 at launch (very few preloads, just a file manager and MS Office-compatible suite)
- keyboard dock included (with clickpad, extended battery, USB 2.0 port, full-size SD slot)
- $479
At that price, I'd seriously have to reconsider buying a budget Atom/Core i3 subnote or netbook vs. this. If you have access to a hosted Windows VM for legacy apps, even better!
I also don't see any Windows 8/RT device matching this spec-for-spec under $500. HP also announced a Split X2 and Envy X2 with Windows RT but those start at $649 and are saddled with a crappy 1366x768 resolution (why???)
