I've pretty much made up my mind in getting the HP Mini 1000 due to the keyboard and aesthetics, but I'm unsure how good netbook SSD's are. I found out that the SSDs used on the mini 1000 are SanDisk pSSD 16GB (unsure what the p infront of the SSD stands for).
How much difference in performance would the SSD be from the 80GB 4200rpm variation be? Loading speeds are pretty important to me. I was planning to install most of my applications in the SSD drive, and just get a 32GB SDHC and formatting it to NTSC so I can store my media there.
The cost between the two is fairly the same 399.99 if I go with the 80GB 4200RPM and a little over 400 if I decide to go with 16GB SSD + 32GB SDHC
Also i don't really have much of an option with HD's because the form factor they use on the mini 1000 is 1.8" PATA, getting a higher performance drive isn't worth the cost.
Any input would be appreciated, I just received my first SSD (Intel X-25m) and I am extremely happy with the performance. I'm very aware of the vast difference in quality between the two SSDs, and I'm hoping someone can give me an idea just how much it would be
Thanks in advance
