<< Man, this is one HOT deal. Thanks everyone for the replies. I was so mad at HP for making such a crappy feed mechanism on their 5L line of printers, I thought I was done with them (I now happen to own an HP2100). If this works, it will be a truly great deal for me--resurrecting an unused printer and brand new toner cartridge from the dead. Hell, I almost threw out my printer the last time I cleaned out my basement. I hope that this works!
Cheers,

If you install it correctly, it will work.
As for the "crappy feed mechanism," you're wrong. The feed & separation system works fine, the problem is the rubber compound didn't age very well. The replacement pad is a new compound, & should last longer.
Feed & separation rollers, transfer rollers, pickup rollers, and fusers are all considered to be consumable items in corporate level printers. In personal printers none of these parts are user replaceable, & no maintenance kit exists. FYI, a maintenance kit for a 4100 costs more than a brand new personal printer.
