an example of auto-notification (afaiK

) is when one puts a cd in and it auto-starts the startup.exe on the cd (anybody please feel free to correct/clarify this). the problem is that programs like nero and clone cd like to have all of the resources associated with the drive in use (the better to avoid buffer underruns?). easy cd creator is the only program that seems to work fine with auto-notification on (i have nti, nero, ec, click and burn, b recorder gold, etc.)
would write more, but i'm probably wrong anyway

that lite-on should be able to burn those fine though. it's puzzling to me also

good luck
edit: i'm trying to remember how to turn it off in xp, but i'm having a little trouble

the other window oses all can be turned off by going into the properties of the drive in device manager and turning it off (along with turning dma off/on -- sometimes off works better depending on some other varibles) edit again: variables
