OMG!! 750 cdr's

I already have 400+ cdr's...but you make me go to Sears tomorrow.

Can anyone compare these with Fujifilm TY's?

Well, in one of my lives, I'm an avid collector of live music.. mostly Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, John Butler Trio, and others. When concert season comes around, I burn up a storm.. the DMB 2002 tour encompases over 150 CDs.. so you can see where these CDs go.

During the last round of HP CDs at Sears, I bought 7 spindles.. 15 seemed reasonable this time. :)

BTW: For those that are curious, the HP CDs are made by Taiyo Yuden, and are the same as the Fuji CDs.. just with a different writing surface. The HP ones are all white, with light gray branding.. very nice CDs.

Can anyone else confirm what max speed these will burn at??

Also, I assume these are 80min/700MB, right?

TIA

Cool, thanks.

Has anyone tried with a 40X burner?

Yes they are better than the fuji TY at bestbuy that I bought because they are a bit thicker because of the top surface. It's whie and smooth so it shouldn't scratch so easily. The fujis are grey and thin, though I'm sure they are good, but once you've tried these, you'll know the difference.

I've burnt at 32x with my Free Cendyne (AR) lite-on 32x from staple as while back. Works like a charm and never a coaster.

great deal! I remember picking up 2 of these back when they were $10 a piece.

Went to pick some up this morning, got 5 of them in Bethesda, Maryland - when I left this morning there were some on the shelf, but I as I walked out I heard the employees talking about saving the ones in the back or something. Guess they were suprised too.

Thanks! :D

They're essentially the same as Fuji. The disc underneath, which is the important thing, is exactly the same. Companies that use Taiyo Yuden just put on their own top layer. Fuji uses a plain silver top, Memorex white, HP either white or light blue, etc, but the quality of the disc doesn't vary. It doesn't really matter which TY you buy, just make sure you buy TY instead of any of the crappy made in Taiwan Riteks or CMC discs.

BTW, I stopped in the Milford Ct store and relieved them of 4 spindles for $21 including tax. As of around noon-ish they had about 10 spindles left, so if anyone is in that area it might be worth popping in. Check all over the electronics department as they didn't have a big display, there were 2 or 3 spindles in several different spots. Thanks Expresso, great find, it's nice to find TY's for a dirt cheap price without a rebate.

Hialeah, FL oos. I have these from Kmart closing and 40x is the charm on my 48x burner.
EDIT.
I didn't check every nook and cranny, though.

Scored 2 in Fairfax, VA. I never realized Sears carried so many brands of CD's. Anyways, good deal. Thanks.

Just picked up 3 @ Sears in College Station, TX. I asked the guy to check and see if they had anymore in the back. He asked me how much they were on sale for and like a moron I bragged 4.97. Of course no more in the back!!! haha, I bet he wanted to take some home! anyhow, I won't be greedy!!! 150 ty for $16!!! Truely a hot deal!

Do they have any mini-cdrw on clearance?

I hope to pick some up. Those cute little things. And if they come up with a mini-dvd-rw/mini-dvd+rw with say 1-3 GB I would also be all over the thing.

Good deal on some awesome CDRs, will stop by local sears before I leave town tommorow.

Thanks.

Got the last 5 in Kennesaw, GA. Clerk said she hadn't even been notified to change the sign (which still said $29.99). Thanks!
