I'm in the process of shopping for a car and I've decided on a 2000 or 2001 Infiniti I30 , which you probably know has the previous generation Maxima engine (VQ30) . With the rollout of the I35 the depreciation on I30s is ridiculous.. which is good for me as a 2nd hand buyer. Here's a good pic of one:

Granted, he has the I35 grill and painted headlights but you have to admit that looks clean.

j/k I've heard that they are a problem, although 5-6 times is a little much.

I have had an 83 Nissan XtraCAb 4x4, a '92 standard cab 4x4 4-Banger, a 94 ExtraCAb 4x4 V6, and finally a 2001 Nissan Xterra V6.

All of them have been extremely low maintenance and reliable (83 being the worst with a blown heater core....besides I thrashed that one!)

I would recommend Nissan to most anyone.
