I could imagine next season starting out with

spoiler in description so putting tags over:

dexter all dull because lumen left, then lumen comes back and says she has changed and wants to work with dex.

then they have a mess with that where they work together and HOPEFULLY

debbie will finally know the real dexter.

If they ended this season with debbie finding dex and lumen behind the curtain. season 6 could be about debbie dealing with knowing the real dexter.

Anyone else see the recent news that Michael Hall (Dexter) and Jennifer Carpenter (Debra) split? Wonder if this will affect the show in any way.

I told the wife that Lumen would be back in 2 years. She'd have a problem that Dexter has the solution for, like Lumen's best friend/cousin/something was killed and no can figure out anything from the crime scene. Dexter flies to Minnesota and checks it out and wouldn't you know crosses path with the killer.

EDIT: chisel this in stone people, another prognostication by Squisher

ehhh that does seem a bit unlikely imo

dexter's killings come because of his position in the homicide department of miami metro.

he can look up adresses and such. he wouldnt have that in minnesota.

if anything, lumen will be back in miami

This finale sucked balls. I mean what the hell has changed? Nothing. It feels like the writers didn't know what to do with Rita's death and then they used this season to make it all good again. I was expecting some kind of big thing to happen and the way the finale ended was just so disappointing.

It picked up a bit later on with Luman and Dexter and I'm kind of sad to see her go; overall, this season was disjointed - and to have Peter Weller's Liddy get killed just when he was getting interesting - tis a shame...

I heard that Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are getting divorced. Just thought I'd left everyone know.

He could overnight stuff back and Masuka and Deb would do anything, and remember Quinn owes him one, they'd look anything up for him if it sounds legit. Heck, half the time he does this on the show with phone calls to "records." I imagine even the locals would lend a hand if so inclined. I'll bet the break in the case doesn't even involve lab work, but will be some overlooked blood spatter pattern.

Think of it as the Partridge Family Goes on Vacation.

eh, some people are never satisfied. This was a great season. Making the majority of the season a revenge plot made the kills and motivation satisfying. And no one is safe, the writers could have just as easily killed Lumen as let her leave, and then people would be bitching about her dying. But I wasn't sure which way they were going to go until the end. Still strong after 5 seasons, a rare enough feat.

I don't think him and Quinn will be getting along next season.

What about Dexter's "chemistry lesson"? 😉

EDIT:

Although, I found the religious angles kind of interesting.
