Howard on Sirius = Better than ever! My morning ride to work would be pretty damn boring with Howard. And the replays are great too. Love the show!

Are you saying you like him or don't like him?

Damn, sorry about that. I went ahead and correct my post. It's supposed to be without Howard. And yes, I love the show.

Howard Stern is more about amusement rather than being funny. You should be amused by him. You should.

BTW-Sirius had about 700,000 subscribers a little over 2 years ago prior to Stern moving his radio show to satellite radio. They now have over 8 million subscribers and Howard Stern is the number one listened to program on Sirius by far.

Did you hear the Counting Crows in studio last week? They did 'Round Here' acoustic and it sounded amazing. History of Howard Stern was great too. Can't wait for the next installment.

Howard is funny. People that don't have Sirius probably would only remember the last days on terrestrial when he was extremely unhappy and less funny for sure.

His show on Sirius is great, imo. He doesn't swear and be vulgar just b/c he can like O&A do as soon as they hit the XM portion of their show. The interaction with Fred/Artie is great, and Sal and Richard's bits can be hilarious.

IMHO after the divorce he pretty much became everything he used to make fun of with celebrities. Jackie leaving was pretty much the final nail in the coffin for me.

Jackie wasn't that great. Artie is much better IMO, he's like a regular guy. The show is better now than ever. The main thing for me is the interviews and the lack of censorship on satellite. They can go an hour without breaking and the interviews and musical guest performances are so much better now because they don't have to cut to a commercial every 5-10 minutes.

Man, you just reminded me of now-defunct radio station in the Philadelphia area (Y100) that had the bands that came to town for concerts do acoustic recordings of their hit songs and then they sold compilation CDs for charity. They were called the Sonic Sessions, and I'd love to find them.

Edit: Hah, Amazon.com has some used copies.

I love Howard - I've been a fanatical fan for the past 12 years or so, and have listened to the entire show every day since early 1999. The only time I missed the show was during a military deployment in the fall of 2001. The show on Sirius is brilliant IMO - he's better than ever.

I don't find him funny. He thinks he's funny though.

Stern is entertainment for men, unless you're willing to get naked and ride the sybian, I doubt he cares what you think of his show.

Howard was funny before every show became about hating GWB, the FCC, and blabbing about the legal redtape he has to follow. It was funny when he was forced to be a bit more clever with his jokes rather than make dick and fart jokes that only a stupid no-class moron can bear for more than a couple minutes.

That's the beauty of the show on Sirius. I agree his rants about the FCC were getting a little ponderous in 2005, but it's a whole new ball game now, with no regulation whatsoever.

Surprised you don't like him then. J/K. I understand what you mean when you say it was better when he use to have to be more creative to get under the radar of the FCC

He's the best of the "Shock Jock"genre and morning Zoo type of radio shows. I liked his show better in the early 90's when Jackie Martlin and Billy West (of The Simpsons fame) were part of his crew. The Jackie Puppet routine that Billy West did use to crack me up every time, especially when it would get under the skin of Jackie.

Richard and Sal get annoying with the gay act bullshit, in fact they could lose Sal and the show would be better.

Billy West was pure genius on the Stern show. Those bits were some of the funniest shit I've ever heard on the radio.:laugh:

Billy was definitely awesome, but I love Richard and Sal. Definitely a HUGE step up in entertainment value from Stuttering John - his celeb interviews were great but John himself is a skidmark of a human being.

I actually stopped listening to the show because I can't stand Sal and his and Richards gay shtick has gotten real old. Who the fuck wants to listen for the 100th time as Richard tea bags Sal on a bet?

I have felt for years (even years before he was hired) that Richard was one of the funniest contributors to the show. I used to get a bellyache listening to his songs about Robin and KC, and I love his phony phone calls and songs now. Sal is mostly interesting because he is so dumb and his personal life is so tragic, but he too makes some strong song parodies. I am not bothered by the gay stunts, but in any case they are much less frequent than they used to be. I certainly think the two of them together contribute a whole lot more than Stuttering John ever did.

Agreed. I also love it when Artie does the emotional friend thing.

Fred needs to play more baboey songs too. I love those.
