Well, all of these are unlikely, but the least unlikely (and only ones worth mentioning), are (in order of likeliness):

a virus (quite unlikely, but definitely possible)
nuclear war (possible, but very unlikely)

Smart phones will reach 100% saturation. People will be so preoccupied with sexting that they forget to actually boink and we will have a complete die off. Millions of years in the future, avian archeologists will have nothing on us but a bazillion amateur videos.
 
North Korea will finally make a rocket that will be able to blow up LA. All celebs will die, thus causing mass panic and rioting when people can no longer gossip about Kim K's ass.

I am quite amused to hear people talk about signs of the end of times with todays world, as if they are content believing the Rapture will come and save them from what horrors might come.
Floods, climate change, melting ice bergs, tornadoes in downtown L.A.
World wars over movies made by Seth Rogen and released by Sony.
Politics of greed taking over the world.
Filthy air, water, food, rivers and streams.
Oceans so polluted that great creatures of the sea die in masses on the shores.

I reply, what if you are wrong?
What if things simply get worse, more worse, and even worser 😀 until life is so unbearable for everyone? And no Rapture. Nada. Zilch.
No thunder bolts from heaven. Where are the thunder bolts?

Instead of believing some miracle rainbow will save you and snatch you into the blue skies, instead why not expect to be around for awhile? A long while.
And maybe start using a little brain power by voting smarter, respect the environment, plan ahead, use common sense, and act like there will be a tomorrow for you here on earth?

Because, the theory of Rapture sounds great and all on paper, but what if?
What if things around you in your little world just keep getting worse and worse?
And one day you realize, damn...
Maybe its about time I get with the program here on earth?

That would be interesting. Texas has us outnumbered 4:1 but we got some cranky old bastards here and more guns than grade points. I'm thinking Texas would probably win unless Arizona attacks on a Sunday in which case Texas would be finished before the pie was served.
