Possible he just owned the computers the CP was on and his employee put them there, which would explain why he didn't wipe them. He didn't know.

However, I can't get past Subway firing him so quickly. How would they have known? It seems like Jared spilled the beans early to them, which means he had beans to spill, the "he didn't know" angle doesn't hold up in that situation.
