How well do you think would Bruce Lee perform in modern MMA?

Call me crazy, but I believe Bruce Lee would be smart enough to use the search function on this forum before asking that again.

Hes the type that would incorporate much of the BJJ after seeing how effective it was. He would dominate, but his fighting style would be different than what we've come to expect from the real Lee.

Maybe Bruce Lee could write this forum a new search function to replace the current piece of shit one. I typed in Bruce Lee MMA and did not find a thread.

At the risk of being labeled a blasphemer: Does anyone actually know if Bruce Lee could fight in real life? Are there first hand accounts of fights he was in, or was all his skill just show and myth?

Well if he was around today he'd be way to old to be a professional fighter.

But when he was alive he had an incredible strength to weight ratio, and amazing control. He'd dominate fairly easily. JKD was all about doing what works as opposed to practicing a particular style just for the sake of the style, so the arguments about striking vs grappling are moot.

I would think Kung Lee be very similar to the fighting style..

So, I would presume he would do very well.

Yea, he could really fight.

I'm sure he would do just fine assuming he would have learned the skillsets necessary to do so.

Yeah, it's not like he was incapable of learning anything more. Wasn't JKD all about adapting and using the best from different art forms? Sounds suspiciously like what MMA fighters do...

According to wiki he knocked out Gary Elms in 3 rounds in 1958. He knocked out 3 boxers in the first round before he made it to the final to face Elms. Considering that boxing is foreign to him, I would say he can fight. He detested the showy kung fu the other people were doing.

Jeet Kune Do is definitely combat oriented, stressing efficiency and maximum delivery of power.

From the wiki it reads like he was the pioneer in mma.

What a PPV ... Bruce Lee vs. Anderson Silva for the ultimate pound for pound fighter. Now if someone would just clone Bruce Lee.

It would certainly be entertaining to watch. I just know he'd take the best parts of Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu (sp?) and somehow make it even more devastating.
