woke up at 4:20, got in explorer full of 4 computer geeks (including myself 🙂) at 5:15, drove 43 minutes to Best Buy, ran to hard drive area, got the 150 free cds, 75 GB HDD and 256MB RAM. Wanted the video card, but oh well, I didn't need it, but it woulda been nice 🙂
 
Hurray! Flashing the AD1500 with the 1500 Firmware works. The original 1000 doesn't work, but the 1500.rom one works 🙂

I split firewood most of the day. Just me in a beautiful 60 acre patch of timber. No humans. Just me and mother nature sharing a quiet day with the wildlife.

That is a HOT DEAL. 😉

So you spend a crapload of money on a bunch of garbage invetory that the store was probably trying to get rid of anyways, so they get the idea "hey, lets take some crap that isn't selling, put out rebates for it that makes it free after waiting 4 months for a check, and see how many suckers fall for it?" I guess you were a pretty big sucker, have fun waiting for those rebate checks to come in (they probably won't). I hope you hide the credit card statement from mom and dad. But hey, at least you got a bunch of useful stuff! gamecube controllers and USB hubs, woo!

 
Stayed up until 2 am, noticed the deals on HDs and USB drives (I was interested, but not needing them.... hot deal syndrome shows its signs). Slept until around 10:30 am ish, then spent much of day visiting computer, cleaning some stuff, changed a stripe raid to a mirror raid, then ate lots of leftovers. Yum. Oh crap, I did order an ebags item for my father just after midnight... but did keep to the no buy friday thing.
 
I woke up an hour late and rushed off to Staples thinking that everything that I wanted would be gone. Luckily, everything that I wanted was still instock and I was in and out in about 15min.🙂 Also, since they ran out of the 40x CDRWs at Staples, they were selling 48X drives for the same price. 😀

ATTN: n00b
1. A lot of the stuff isn't liquidated inventory, a lot of the items, while not the BEST quality items, are still not crap. And since they're free after rebate (which I will be tracking), I'll probably use half of the stuff. The rest will go up for auction at eBay 🙂
2. My dad paid for all of this, it's all on his credit cards, so I don't need to hide anything.
3. The 80gb hard-drive, 256mb PC133 RAM and 40/12/48x CD Burner totalling $50 after rebate isn't bad.
4. There were 1000 people in line @ the local Best Buy at 5:30am, and somehow, all of the people seemed to get into the store, but all the good things were taken by the first 15 people.

I got a dual DVD/VCR thing from Radio Shack for $118ish after rebate for my parents for Christmas.
 
AAGGGHH...i woke up from a 15 hour coma...missed it...my dad forced me to go help him @ his work...and got dropped off @ friend's place...SIGH...missed out on all the deals!!
