How to send text messages from email to cell?

What is your email doing receiving text messages? Unless they are text based emails of IM conversations.

With tmobile you just send the email to yourself and it will let you know you have mail. Download the email to your cell and viola!

And...you can also use activesync if you have a windows based pda phone like mine. 🙂

I'm not sure what you're asking. My email isn't receiving text messages.
I just want to use email to send text messages to cell phones. Isn't that a straight forward question?

The straightforward answer is it depends on the type of phone and service. My pda phone can send sms, mms, IMs and regular email. I can log into tmobile and sent email from there too, but the recipient will get an email, not a text type message (IM).

OK. I want to send a text message from a PC to a cell phone, for each of the services I listed in the OP. I dont mind if its IM or email, they're both text, as long as they can read it on any phone. The people I will be sending to do have text messaging service, some can also send/receive pictures too (some not).

This question was asked and answered on here recently: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=38&threadid=1837272&enterthread=y

From that thread:

Alltel - number@message.alltel.com
Boost - number@myboostmobile.com
Cingular - number@mobile.mycingular.com
Nextel - number@@messaging.nextel.com
SprintPCS - number@@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Tmob - number@tmomail.net
Tmob SK - number@tmail.com
Verizon - number@vtext.com
Virgin Mobile US - number@vmobl.com
So those aren't typos?
