So NOT true.

Now excellent dry grip and long life are mutually exclusive. But we're talking super sticky tires.

I just upgraded my rear sway also! pic

Ah, I see you went the expensive route. OS used the CL type-s sway bar. $60

Yep, I wanted to do the 20MM 2004 TL-S 6MT sway, but the parts are on national backorder. It would've been $60 shipped also. I paid $113 for the Comptech from a local shop (Motorsport Dynamics in Sac). It's 22MM... only 3MM larger than OS'.

You almost paid twice to get 3mm thicker? can't you wait just a bit longer?

anyways, spidey07 and DougK62,

what's the difference between the Potenza RE series (like, 750 vs 92)

and to whoever said that 15 inch wheels aren't good for handling needs to learn a little more

price and dry traction. I don't remember the models off the top of my head but I loved the 750s...better performance for me. The 92's were fine (got 50K out of them) but the 750s just had better feel.

Don't get all season tires. It doesn't snow where you live. DO NOT LISTEN TO RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ALL SEASON TIRES.

Aren't the RE92s total and utter crap? I know the WRX and Maxima's came with them, and the best upgrade you could do was to switch tires.

I'd recommend Yokohama AVS ES100. They are performance tires with exceptional grip in dry and wet. I have a set on my Maxima (incidently that has an aftermarket sway bar too) and they have been awesome. I can't comment on treadlife since I've only put about 4k miles on them so far (tires currently in storage waiting for winter to be over).

Yeah RE92s might be the exception for Potenzas, i hear left and right those tires are garbage. I had Potenza RE900s on my corolla though and they were pretty good.

Yeah I was just thinking about this, i doubt it will snow in socal even in a nuclear winter, which erases out the potenza g009 and the ziex 512s. In a rainy year, we get maybe 7 inches of rain, hahaha.

Pretty much the only thing left for my size wheel is the michelin pilot primacys which cost almost double. I am ok with paying more, but the improvement in grip and handling has to be very substantial. Is that the case here?

Actually I have the 04 TL 6MT rear sway, 20 mm, the biggest OE sway bar they make for this chassis. So the difference is only 2 mm. :p Sway bar, bushings, and bracket were $51 before tax. Incredible deal, but the bushings were on back order for freaking 3 weeks.

With the sway bar installed, my accord behaves like a totally different car under hard cornering. Before it had that SUV about to roll over feeling, now the composure is flat through out all turns. Like I mentioned earlier the sway bar swap reveals the crappy nature of michelin energys. This weekend I was exiting a freeway into a left turn, it was empty and clear all around so i went as fast as i thought i could safely go. The body remained composed, but the whole car was stuttering out from no grip.

So I was talking to this guy i know, he works at a tuner shop. He says the falkens i was looking at are crap, bridgestones are generally good except for turanzas and RE92s, and the pilot primacys are good, but don't wear so well.

I guess at this point I will get those bridgestones since two of those are as much as one pilot. :\

FYI to all........treadwear ratings don't mean much at all as they are relative in nature. You can only use them to compare tires of the same manufacturer becasue a 300 rating from Michelin is not the same as a 300 from Goodyear.
