Any tips? Particularly when at work and having an average work day that is peppered with unresolvable/compicated/highly emotional BS from home life?

It's a wonder my keyboard hasn't been destroyed yet.

Sometimes you just gotta let it out. Burnt a bridge with an acquaintance yesterday. No worries there and it felt good. Probably shouldn't do it all the time though.

don't pull this crap. details?

Pretty basic. Acquaintance is a "starving artist" who drives around in her big fucking truck getting 10 mpg, or on her high end crotch rocket. Smoking a pack a day and a pot habit to boot. She feeds off anyone that will give her anything and the minute you're of no help to her, "see ya". Ask her for help with something and she's too busy or wants more in return.

I asked to borrow her truck to make a quick lumber run and I don't have an open bed vehicle. She said "Tank's almost empty" I said "I'll put in 10 bucks" (it's a 6 mile round trip) to which she replied "That won't get very far".

For whatever reason that rubbed me the wrong way and I blew. This is after I've helped her move, built her up a free computer, helped with advertising, and went to many of her events to support local art...

Does the realization that venting on people/things, especially when they aren't the source of problem, is pointless, selfish and unproductive help?

It may make you feel good in the short term but in the long term it will probably make things worse. It is essentially the emotional equivalent of fast food.

Get some strenuous exercise on a regular basis and chill.

I don't know if this was directed toward my post above yours, but I work out daily and couldn't be happier that I don't have to go to her bull shit art things any longer.

I sort of just...don't.

In fact, I can't even understand why everyone is so full of barely controlled rage. I'm more neutral when it comes to all emotions. I don't have the crazy heights of rage, ecstasy, and happiness everyone else seems to get, but I don't have the lows of depression either.
