I decided to embrace itsince i had to do it. It would be a new experience. But this is beyond boring. They said a judge will take all 99 of us so i may see some excitement. Also, maby people here are disgusting human beings but there a some chicks here i wouldn't mind taking into the men's room...
But they might mind it. I think I've seen that movie.

If you don't take something to keep you interested to jury duty you are pretty clueless.

$20 here...and if we go over...free lunch...WOOT.
Frig, they don't even provide a free lunch where I'm at.

I had to go to Tampa for a Federal one two days straight last year and fortunetly got out of it as I told that Judge I'd just started a new job and I had and it really stressed things a bit.

I get County about once a year and still have never gotten past Jury Selection, at least then my old employer paid you for going still.

Must be that "I'm annoyed to be here look".

I get out of it by saying I'm racist against all races including my own. Works

Oh, you mean date rape, not the kind where some foul breathed heathen comes out from behind a car and drags a wench into the woods, slaps her silly, unzips his pants and ... :whiste:

I could claim something like £60 a day plus paid for lunch and travel expenses. UK actually does something right for once. Still ended up out of pocket for 2 weeks but I wasn't sat there the whole time getting pissed about the whole process.

I think it's $5 bucks a day here. I'm due for JD on April 15th. Really hope I don't get chosen as a juror because I have non-refundable plane tickets out of town on the weekend. Have more non-refundable plane tix the following week. I could say that to the judge but if I do he/she'll likely reschedule me for six months out. Will see how it plays out. With some luck I won't have to report in person, it's sometimes worked out that way.

I got called years ago. I explained that my functional role in the organization I worked for needed me more than the courts. That was all it took.

I have friends that got called and ended up on a jury....once you do it, you end up on their list and can be called back. It's a great thing, but in my work environment, I don't have enough time in the day to do my job....I can't imagine getting called to report for weeks with no clear schedule.

I don't have a job but I have to say there's not enough time in the day to do all the things I need to do! Hanging out on a jury will only make those matters worse.
