I'm up to doing 15 push ups, but having trouble doing more. What should I work on other than trying to do more push ups? Should I just work on arms and upper body/core?

At the stage you're at, almost any approach that has you regularly doing push-ups will work. Grease the Groove (as TallBill linked), tabata intervals, hundredpushups.com, volume based (ie, each day use as few sets as possible to get to 100 push-ups), etc.

hundredpushups.com actually works.

i had to repeat a week, (5? i think) but I did a set of 100 at the end of it.

I took on the 100 consecutive pushup challenge but I'm not really following their routine. I do pushups in between my ab workouts on lifting days(3x/week) toward the end of my workout. I usually do 4 sets. I could do about 20 pushups per set(totaling 80) when I first began. What I did was once I achieved 4x20, my next time to the gym, I would try for 3x20 plus 1x25... then 2x20 plus 2x25... and so on and so forth. I'm currently up to 4x50 as of yesterday. My goal is to get to about 4x75 and at that point, I will probably test myself to see how many consecutive pushups I can do. I'm sure I could do or get near 100 consecutive at this point but I don't wanna stray from my plan so I won't try until I've gotten to 4x75.

Yes upper body needs to be strengthened. Pushups will help achieve that.

So keep going buddy...

it's for pullups, but i guess it could be used for pushups.

anyway, it says load = 10-30 percent of baseline.
but if i can only do 5 pull ups, then i just do 1 pull up per set? and i just do as many sets as i can remember per day?

it also says do it for 3days straight, then 1 day rest? "This will allow for the continuance of existing training programs."
Can you explain this?

Yes, it literally means 10-30% of baseline (usually of a % maximum reps).

Three days straight allows for neurological gains. If you did it every day, the stress may become greater for the central nervous system, and it could add to overall CNS fatigue.

I didn't see it spelled out in the article, but how many sets are you supposed to do in a day? As many as you can without getting muscle fatigue?
