At least, I think it's a VSync issue...
I resintalled my motherboard drivers as part of resolving my system hanging on "Windows is shutting down", and then updated to the 27.42 drivers. Reinstalled coolbits, as I am now running at 200/460, and downloaded 3DMark2001SE to see the difference in tests and score. I got a bit shocked to see I had dropped from 7321 marks to 6110 in 3DMark2001SE and 6001 in 3DMark2001 (5645 and 5486 at stock speeds)! So I go into my properties pane and check the Direct3D VSync settings as I'd been dumb enough to forget about it before, set them to "always off" and ran the tests again - same result! So I went to make double sure, and found that the VSync setting had reverted to a blank box with a dropdown of "auto-detect", "always off" and "always on". Chose "always off", clicked apply then OK, back to desktop then back to settings - blank box again! Argh! Geforce Tweak won't work with any drivers newer than 23.11, and neither will NVMax (tells me it doesn't detect a Geforce or Geforce 2, well duh!). What program works with these drivers, and am I barking up the right tree to begin with?
