funny thing is, when you see that one jackass weaving through the lanes and tailgating people......you usually meet them at the next stop light. in their haste and rudeness, they'll probably get to their destination 30 seconds sooner.
Funny thing is that its often not even 30 seconds. Most times I see it usually averages 5-10 seconds.
Obviously you never drive long distances.
200 miles @ 55 mph = 3 hours 38 minutes
200 miles @ 70 mph = 2 hours 51 minutes
That's 47 minutes faster. And even a distance of only 10 miles at the same speeds will cause a difference of almost 2.5 minutes.
While I agree with you about short stoplight-to-stoplight distances, the OP specifically mentioned this was a "highway" (I'm assuming 2-lane blacktop, meaning 1 lane in either direction).
And don't use that laser pointer <edit> or oil squirters </edit>. If proven that you used it to attempt to blind another driver (which would be relatively easy, it would simply have to be alleged by the other driver, then the fact that it would be in your possession would be proof enough), you could be convicted of reckless endangerment or some other similar crime which could possibly carry jail sentence or license suspension. And IMO you would richly deserve it.
edit: running another car off the road, even if no contact is made between the vehicles, is that same as causing an accident in every state in the country.
