yes. they do get a ticket if they are going to slow. BUT going the speed limit will NOT get you a ticket.

The op was fallowing the LAW. he does not need to speed up to make people behind him happy. if they want to get there faster they should have left earlier.

I guess in your world, racing to the store is a decent reason for someone to die.

You know for a fact that I'm not racing to the pharmacy to pick up needed medication for my sick grandfather? You know for a fact that I'm not taking my pregnant wife to the emergency room? Do you know for a fact that you are not endangering the lives of my loved ones by playing your silly braking games?

If your in a hury for medical reasons call an ambulances. Your loved ones are putting themselves and the person they are tailgateing in danger not the other way around. Do you really want your pregnant wife to be involved in a car crash?

well if you need medication for your sick grandfather you shouldnt have let it get empty. if it is to get your wife to the hospital to give birth you shouldnt be in such a hurry. getting in a wreck because you are being reckless will do more harm. anyway it takes a LOONG time for that kid to get out!

My grandfather got a warning ticket for driving the speed limit in Kansas City once. He was creating a hazard. The officer told him that if he had not had out of state plates he would have been ticketed

Tailgaters suck. So many times I will be driving in the left lane and some dick comes up with his highbeam on and is about 5 feet off my damn bumper and for some reason he thinks I should get out of his way? Why would I want to your being a dick when I can have some fun by trying to get the guy to pass on the right and then blocking them with another car.

My grandfather has Alzheimers and forgot. I did not realize this until I got home. What if the kid is breach? All I have to say that is if it's an emergency and someone does that crap, they will end up sideswiped in the ditch

if the child is breach you call a ambulance. No reason to risk a even worse emergancy by getting in a wreck.

my grandfather has alzheimers also. when it comes to his medication we keep a close eye on it. you always have to remember that they forget that they even have it. so you have keep a close eye on them at all times.

so far the reasons you listed for tailgating or going faster are BS.

oh and if your grandfather would have gotten a ticket then it would have been rather easy to get out of it.

Uh the mistake is that I never made those assumptions. Fact is you are still putting others at risk. Maybe you should have picked up extra medication and planned ahead. Maybe your wife should have an induced pregnancy. If someone is in an emergency they would put four ways on and hold down the horn. That is common sense and others would most likely get out of your way.

The rest are just people who are speeding for the sake of it.

It blows my mind that since I drive the speed limit I'm the jerk. It seems that the speed limit is something to be ignored, I want to get there faster so I can do that if I want. What I want/need matters more than the laws of the land.

yeah its rather sad. they are willing to risk there life and mine just to get to the light 20 seconds faster then me.

If you are in that much of a hurry get up and leave 10 minutes faster.

if you are going the speed limit, you are going too slow.

speedometers on cars arent calibrated to exact speeds like police cruisers. so if you see 65mph, you probably are doing 60. there can be upto 10% difference, so go faster to make up for it.
