HA! Does anyone remember those Presto hotdog machines they sold years ago? That's exactly what they were. Like six nails/prongs in them, impale the dog, close the lid, plug in it and they cook.Stick hotdog on nails.

Even better, boil them in beer doctored with various spices. Good stuff.Originally posted by: MichaelD

microwave is quite easy. If everything is defrosted, just stick the hot dog in the bun, put a paper towel around it, and mircowave on full power for about 1:30 minutes
You do know he means "one minute and 30 seconds" or 90 seconds, right? NOT 1:30. Which could mean "one hour and 30 minutes" :Q
When I make hotdogs at home, I boil them. Put in water, bring to boil. Boil for two minutes AFTER water starts to boil. Delicious.![]()

OK, so now I want a hot dog. Only problem is, the ones in my fridge expired a month ago.
Should I?

vash's method of cooking hotdogs:
1. Slice hotdogs down the length of the weiner, but do not cut in half.
2. Chop a quarter of an onion
3. Brown the onions for a few minutes on a pain, with a little bit of vegetable oil.
4. Add the hotdogs, making sure to cook with the sliced down both up and down for a few minutes.
5. Remove hotdogs when they no longer hold their lengthy shape and have curved 15-20 degrees.
Remove all from pan, add a bun and put spicy mustard on the dog(s).

You don't have to get all fancy with a board & nails. Just take a lampcord, or any other two-prong power cord, and strip an inch or so off the end of each wire & insert into the end of the hotdog. Plug the cord in and unplug once it reaches the appropriate medium or medium well. You can then wipe down the ends of the cord, coil it up and throw it in a drawer until next use.Originally posted by: FenrisUlf
Step 1: Hammer two 3" nails through a board, about 6" apart
Step 2: Get a piece of lamp cord with plug on it. Strip about an inch of insulation off the end of each wire
Step 3: Wrap each wire around one of the nails.
Stick hotdog on nails. Plug in to wall. Hotdog cooked quickly by 120v. UNPLUG before taking hotdog off. This is an old construction workers' cooking device on the job site.
Thank you. I knew I'd never seen un-precooked hotdogs before.Originally posted by: Gaard
Uncooked hotdogs are white. As white as your sheets...and they have about the same stiffness as cooked pasta. If you took an uncooked hotdog and a wad of wet toilet paper and threw them both against the wall you'd get the same results. If you saw something at the store that said it wasn't cooked, it wasn't a package of hotdogs.
