The mechanism of science works as it always has, your understanding of it is what is at fault. The worst part about it is that you actually think you're proving yourself right. You actually think that by me not showing you a youtube video of a collection of amino acids from 6 billion years ago turning into a blue whale swimming in the ocean off the coast of Madagascar is somehow proof that evolution cannot exist.

No I don't. A bacteria adapting to its environment isn't evidence that the microbe could turn into whales after billions of years. That part is 100% an article of faith. And it isn't proof that "evolution cannot exist" it is a statement of fact that the mechanism it proposes hasn't been demonstrated to be adequate.

You still haven't answered what your bar for evidence would be, until you can do that, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that you will never accept the premise, and are happy to exist in ignorance.

And it's only a statement of fact in your mind, every rational scientist who's studied the material accepts evolution as fact.

You are right and there is no way to prove that evolution happened by direct observation. It' is just a story we tell ourselves and one into which we put our faith. From a body of data and scientific theorizing we have devised explanations that create faith. The faith so produced satisfies minds with ordinary schepticism, but will not reach those who have a bias for an alternate agenda. That is why those of us not deep in the weeds of evolutionary theory look to scientific consensus to give form our opinions.

But, sadly you don't understand it simply because you are wilfully ignorant and don't want to understand it. Maybe I'm wrong here and you have a massive malfunction that literally won't allow you to understand it and it's not wilful at all... It's ignorance either way.
