To all video Techies/Experts,
Well, I just got a Compaq (FP700) LCD monitor, only to find that it has only DFP (20-pin) signal cable. Compaq is of no help, as they aren't sure which (even of their own) computers would come with DFP socket , in place of 15-pin SVGA port. As I realize now it is harder than I thought it would be to find some 'converter' DFP -> SVGA, as there are most other LCDs that directly come with SVGA and/or with DFP or DVI. As I understand that DFP is not the only standard, in fact it is not even popular, and DVI is another standard. Does any one has a handle on this, and what choices/options do I have? I looked at many video cards, but I didn't find any with DFP, though some with DVI. Do I've to shellout and buy aonther video card (which one?) just for this, or is there simpler/cheaper solution, like a DFP -> SVGA converter. Converter solution is a better option because I could switch the monitor from one computer to other anytime.
Thanks for helping out
