Yeah you just have to pry it open at the seam on the side where the two halves are joined. Yes it just heats up the lock, it also has an led flashlight. It uses 2 AAA.

If there's no obvious battery door, maybe the whole housing just pulls/twists apart or something?

yes they do carry cosmetics, however, they have opened their sales to household goods and clothing as well.![]()
